Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Reboot In the Works

Will Smith is developing a reboot of his classic series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air titled Bel-Air, that turns the comedy sitcom into a drama.  The idea for Bel-Air came from Morgan Cooper who created and directed a viral video in March 2019 that presented The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as a drama taking place in modern times.  Smith, who met with Cooper and praised the reimagining on his own YouTube channel in April 2019, is serving as an executive producer.  Cooper will co-write the script with Chris Collins, direct and is a co-executive producer. Collins (The Wire) is also an executive producer and is serving as showrunner. The project is a co-production between Smith’s Westbrook Studios and the producers of the original series, Universal TV.  The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired for six seasons on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Smith starred as the series lead who was sent from Philadelphia to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle inside their Bel-Air mansion.

Country Singer Gets Lost On His Own Property

Kane Brown revealed the police had to intervene when he and some friends got lost while perusing his new Nashville, Tenn., digs which consists of 30 acres of forested land.  He detailed the scary situation on his Facebook page on Thursday, stressing that it was no laughing matter at the time.  “Someone help! I’m lost…ALL JOKES ASIDE. The real story is I moved into a new house. I own 30 acres of 3000 around me. I told my wife I wanted to go check out the property I’ll be 30 minutes. I went with my friend and his girl. I was in shorts and a t shirt. 30 minutes turned into 3 hours it started raining turned dark and dropped to 40 degrees,” his post begins.  The situation looked grim for the group when Brown realized he was without his phone and another person in the group had a cell phone with just 7% battery. The group of three began using GPS to find their way only to be met with “all these cliffs” that are unable to be driven on.  Brown said he turned to fellow musician Ryan Upchurch for some assistance as he lives in the area.  “He finds me with his buddy and now 3 turned into 5 of us lost. He has another 4 friends riding around in a canam and they start getting shot at,” Brown explained.  Brown said a female friend who was with him started “freaking out” as she has asthma.

Angelina Jolie Still Finalizing Divorce

Angelina Jolie filed official paperwork to ask that the private judge overseeing her divorce proceedings from Brad Pitt be disqualified for failure to fully disclose his business relationship with her ex’s attorneys.  The duo, who share six children together: Maddox, 19, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, Knox, 12, and Vivienne, 12, have been locked in a divorce battle since 2016 when it was officially revealed that they were calling it quits after roughly 10 years together.  In a filing in Los Angeles Superior Court, Jolie argues that Judge John W. Ouderkirk should be taken off the divorce case because he was too late and not forthcoming enough about other cases he was hired for involving Pitt attorney Anne C. Kiley.  The filing said that during the Jolie-Pitt proceedings, Ouderkirk has “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel.” It goes on to say that Pitt’s attorney “actively advocated for Judge Ouderkirk’s financial interests in moving — over the opposing party’s opposition — to have his appointment (and his ability to continue to receive fees) extended in a high profile case.”

Reward Offered For Carole Baskin’s Missing Husband

The family of “Tiger King” subject Carole Baskin’s first husband, who mysteriously disappeared in 1997, is offering $100,000 in exchange for information about what happened.  Attorney John Phillips held a news conference in Tampa, Fla., on Monday and announced an independent investigation into the disappearance of Jack “Don” Lewis. He also said that on behalf of the Lewis family, he’s filed a lawsuit against Baskin in an attempt to depose her and get her to speak on the record. He and the family have also paid for Tampa-area billboards asking for information in the case.  Lewis vanished a day before a scheduled trip to Costa Rica and was never found. He was declared legally dead in 2002. He and Baskin started the animal sanctuary, which later became Big Cat Rescue Corp. in Tampa.  Three of Lewis’ daughters were at the news conference. Lewis’ youngest daughter, Gale Rathbone, expressed gratitude for those interested in the case.  “Amazingly, our little family tragedy has become your tragedy. Our search for closure and truth has become your mission also,” she said. “We all know by now that (Lewis) was not a perfect man. But do only the perfect among us deserve justice?”

Stallone Selling Custom SUV

Sylvester Stallone is selling his customized 2019 Cadillac Escalade for $350,000 after he originally paid $409,000.  Becker Automotive Design, which worked with him to design it, is handling the sale. Their automotive masterpiece features a 43-inch UHD LCD smart TV screen in the electric center divider partition and a rear 12-inch LCD for rear-facing passengers. The tricked-out SUV also has two SIM cards from different carriers so passengers can access the internet.  For privacy, the Escalade has fully electric window curtains, and for comfort, the seats have built-in massagers with thermoelectric cool and heat functions.  Stallone is selling the car because he no longer has a “need” for it after purchasing it for “a specific purpose.”  “My requirement for it has recently changed,” he said in a statement.  He added, “I enjoyed personally designing the luxurious interior with Howard Becker. The on-board electronics and ride quality are second to none. I hope the new owner gets years of fulfilling use from this sensationally appointed Becker Cadillac ESV.”

Lori Loughlin Buys Smaller House

Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have purchased a new, $9.5 million home ahead of their sentencing in the college admissions scandal later this month, according to a report.  They relocated to a six-bedroom, nine-bathroom farmhouse in Hidden Hills, Calif., that boasts a temperature-controlled walk-in wine cellar, a gym and a movie theater.  The two-story estate provides “a fresh take on luxury country living,” according to the listing, with a backyard pool, spa and fire pit and barbecue area overlooking the hills. Lori and Mossimo sold their 12,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion earlier this year.  That villa, with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, sold to Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen for roughly $18 million, about $10 million below the original asking price, Variety reported at the time.

Company Wants To Pay You To Adopt A Pet

A Texas-based company that provides insurance comparison services announced employees are being offered a $300 stipend to adopt pets.  The Zebra, which bills itself as “the nation’s leading insurance comparison site,” said it has begun offering employees $300 to help cover adoption fees for “welcoming a new cat or dog into their family.”  “To the company’s knowledge, this is the first policy of its kind to be offered by an employer,” the website said.  The company said employees are also encouraged to take paid time off — “pawternity leave” — to help their new pet settle into their new home.  The Zebra said six employees have claimed the $300 pet adoption stipend.

103 Year-Old Gets First Tattoo

A Michigan woman celebrated her 103rd birthday and being sprung from lockdown at a nursing home by trying something new: getting her first tattoo.  Dorothy Pollack celebrated her 103rd birthday in COVID-19 lockdown at a Muskegon nursing home June 16, and her family said they soon realized they needed to get her back out into the world.  “The nurse in the home said she was horribly depressed and we needed to get her out. We couldn’t see her so we had no idea how she really was. She’s extremely hard of hearing so phone calls were not helpful,” granddaughter Teresa Zavitz-Jones told CNN.  Pollack celebrated her freedom Friday by getting her first tattoo: a small frog on her arm.  “It was pretty exciting because years ago my grandson wanted me to get one and I wouldn’t do it,” Pollack said. “All of a sudden, I decided I would like to have one. And if I could, a frog. Because I like frogs.”

Chihuahua Saves Mans Life

A North Carolina man was reunited with his beloved dog five days after the chihuahua was credited with saving his life during a stroke.  Rudy Armstrong, a Navy veteran who lives alone on a houseboat in Oriental with his dog, Boo-Boo, said he realized he was having a stroke on the boat and he couldn’t reach his phone because he was unable to move one of his arms and one of his legs.  “I didn’t want to be there for a couple of days before somebody would come by,” Armstrong recalled to WCTI-TV, “so I said, ‘OK, Boo-Boo, go get me some help.'”  Boo-Boo ran off at her owner’s urging and returned a short time later with the dockmaster, who summoned paramedics to the scene.  Armstrong said he believes Boo-Boo saved his life by following his instructions. He was hospitalized and was reunited with his dog five days later.

Escaped Emu Caught

An emu that escaped from her owner’s property in England has been captured after wandering loose for nearly a week.  Victoria Elizabeth Robinson-Hewitt said in a Facebook post Monday that the emu, named Ethel, had been captured and returned to owner Kerry Dobson.  Dobson had earlier put out a public plea for locals in the Doncaster area to keep an eye out for the 6-foot bird, which escaped from her owner’s property Thursday.  Dobson said Ethel was likely confused and frightened after being chased away from local fields during recent sightings.
