Katy Perry Too Busy To Shave Her Legs
Katy Perry got candid on Sunday night’s episode of “American Idol.” The new mom to daughter Daisy revealed since welcoming her baby, she barely has time to shave her legs. “As a new mother, I haven’t had much time, so I quit shaving my legs, but when you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch and a half,” Perry said. “Full body chills. It was amazing!” Perry was reacting to contestant Cassandra Coleman’s performance of the Sigma song “Find Me” and duet with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder for “Apologize.” She called Coleman’s performance a “spiritual experience” and said her voice was “angelic.” Perry later tweeted a GIF of leg hair growing. “An actual live look at my leg hair while I hear @casscoleman sing #AmericanIdol,” she joked.

Lori Laughlin Excited Husband Is Out Of Prison
Lori Loughlin is reportedly in good spirits now that her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, is out of prison for his role in the college admissions scandal. He spent the last five months at a federal prison in Lompoc near Santa Barbara. He reported to prison in November, nearly one month after Loughlin reported to FCI Dublin to complete her two-month sentence. While neither Loughlin nor their kids have directly addressed the situation, a source told People that the former “Full House” actress is “relieved” that her spouse is no longer in lock up. “Lori is relieved that he was released from the prison. Mossimo is still in federal custody though,” the source told the outlet. He is expected to serve the remainder of his sentence at home, the person said.

DMX’s family is asking for prayers as the famed rapper is in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose and heart attack last week. “We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges,” the family of the rapper (born Earl Simmons) wrote in a statement to People. Bikers sporting gear from his “Ruff Ryders” collective have gathered around White Plains Hospital in Westchester, where he remains on life support, and plan to hold a prayer vigil Monday. DMX is currently in a “vegetative state,” his manager, Nakia Walker, told the New York Times on Sunday. “We’re just praying,” Walker said, noting that some of his family members have been allowed to visit the Yonkers native in the hospital.

Corden says that he’s in a much better place this April than usual. “I used to go on a crash diet every January. With WW, it’s a different story,” the WW spokesperson tells PEOPLE. “I can eat what I love, and the app everything — it keeps me focused. And guess what? I’m down 20 pounds since the start of this year.” “WW has changed my life without disrupting my life,” he added. Corden is set to show off his weight loss in a new ad for WW that begins airing. Another Wild Turkey Attack
A Connecticut family received a shock when a turkey crashed through a window and left a path of destruction through their home. Sammi Gonias, of West Norwalk, said that she and her daughter, Scarlett, 6, were making a dessert pizza when the turkey smashed through the dining room window. Open up a snow-sprinkled wonderland all your own with galleries, palettes, templates, tutorials, and audio to share some magic. “Right before, we saw a couple turkeys walking in the yard, and two minutes later, one flew through the window,” Gonias told CT Insider. “I didn’t know what was happening. I saw a turkey on the floor and heard glass breaking. It is so loud, it sounded like movie when someone crashed through window.” Gonias said the turkey fought with her Jack Russel terrier, Carolyn, and rampaged through the kitchen, living room and dining room while her husband, Jason, attempted to catch it. Escaped Antelope
An antelope escaped from a petting zoo in Israel and was spotted galloping down the side of a busy highway before being recaptured. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority said three eland antelopes escaped from a petting zoo in Lachish Park, along the southern bank of the Nahal Lachish River, when a group of unidentified suspects cut through the facility’s fence. INPA personnel were able to quickly capture two of the loose animals Saturday morning when they were found wandering in Lachish Park, but one antelope, a female, remained missing. A witness later captured video of the missing antelope running at the side of Highway 41 in Ashdod. See the video HERE.

Hurricane Sandy Debris Found Miles Away
Narrow Dauphin Island, a barrier island in Alabama, was swamped by rising seawater and falling rain during Hurricane Sally, which made landfall near Gulf Shores on Sept. 16. The hurricane dumped as much as 30 inches of torrential rainfall on the heart of Dixie and pummeled the coast with fierce winds. Erosion from Sally gnawed away at beaches and dunes. Wreckages from fallen trees and splintered homes were scattered about the area south of Mobile, but one piece of debris was cast further than the rest. While recently looking for seashells on the beach on Padre Island National Sea Shore in Texas, Chrissy Shahankary found a sign from a bed and breakfast on Dauphin Island: 800 miles away. “As we were going down my husband spotted something floating face down in the water. There’s tons of debris down there. We didn’t know what it could possibly be. So, he goes out in the water and brings it back and it’s this beautiful sign. The only thing that was wrong with it was it was covered in shells and mussels,” Shahankary said. She found the owners of the business “Harbor House” on social media to let them know of her find. “She found us on Facebook with our Facebook page and sent me a message that they had found it,” owner Julie Lindsey said.

Volkswagen Apologizes For April Fools Prank
Volkswagen has apologized for “any confusion” as it admitted that an electric car PR stunt on Tuesday 30 March was an attempt at an April Fool’s joke. News outlets globally reported then how the company’s US operation planned to change its name to ‘Voltswagen of America’ from May. It has spent several years trying to restore its reputation in the country through a green future in the wake of the diesel-gate scandal. But the company admitted late on Tuesday night, US time, that the name change was an April Fool’s joke and PR stunt to draw attention to the launch of its new SUV. There has previously been frustration expressed by VW officials that its electric vehicle efforts have attracted less media and public attention than Tesla. A spokesperson for VW later told the Reuters news agency it had intended to raise the profile of the new car in a “fun and interesting way”.

Don’t Buy Ink Directly from Big Brands
They charge a significant mark-up, and you’ll save money buying third party, Freiberger says. There are companies that specialize in selling generic ink cartridges, and Ebay is the best place to find them, says Lou Gimbutis, chief homebuyer with Property Solutions in Charlotte, North Carolina. He says that the five-pack of the cartridges he needs costs more than $70 at a major retailer, but he finds the five-pack on Ebay for $9 to $14. By buying ink in larger quantities, he pays just over $1 per cartridge.
Beware though, because many manufacturers require that you use their brand new ink cartridges or else you may void the warranty, says Thomas Cirignano, an author who prints numerous copies of his manuscripts for editing purposes.
“I believe some printer brands can actually monitor your Internet-connected printer so they can see if you are not adhering to this ink policy,” he says.
Try Remanufactured Cartridges
These ink cartridges are available at a fraction of the cost, Cirignano says. A new set of three color and one black brand-name cartridges costs around $100 for Cirignano’s printer. On Amazon, he purchases a complete set or remanufactured cartridges containing three colors and two of the larger black cartridges for less than $20 with free delivery.
“The key to purchasing quality refilled cartridges is to read reviews and to check the ink company’s warranty policy,” he says.
In recent years, when many cartridges have added smart-chips embedded within them, there are companies that will offer money for empty cartridges. It’s a win-win, Cirignano says.
Consider Refill Ink Cartridges
These allow you to buy ink separately and pour the ink inside yourself. This is a messy, DIY project and it’s easy to do it wrong. But if you’re good at DIY and don’t mind making a little mess, this could save you more than 50 percent in printer ink, Freiberger says.
Still, Gimbutis says that in his experience, ink and toner refills are more trouble than they’re worth. He’s owned a home-based business that relies heavily on direct mail since 2004, so he’s tried just about every way possible to get his printing costs down. Liquid ink cartridges tend to be relatively small, so the frequency of refilling is high per 1,000 pages printed, Gimbutis says.
“It’s also a messy process: The best of intentions often leave stained fingertips, surfaces and sometimes even printers.”
Toner cartridges for laser printers are larger and require refilling less often, but the process is time consuming and not always successful. To refill toner cartridges, you must drill a hole in the cartridge, fill it with powder and then re-seal. In both cases, you will typically need a new chip that your printer recognizes every time you do this, otherwise it will refuse to print.
Check Out Subscription Services
Most of the major printer companies now offer subscription-based ink services that are cost-effective depending on your plan. For example, HP offers a plan with a monthly fee to print a specific number of pages per month. The fee includes the ink, shipping and recycling and it rolls over front month to month. If you need to print more pages, you will be billed the same price per page as the base plan. The most popular plan is $5 per month, and it includes ink for 100 pages of printing.
There are Also New Print Bottles
Within the last few years, a few major printer brands (Epson, Canon) have released ink in bottles that may be poured into reusable tanks. These are paired with EcoTank printers, and the ink is considerably less expensive than comparable ink (it’s about 3 cents per black page). The downside is that the actual printer is relatively high so this should only be considered as a way to save money for those who truly print often.
