Big Bang Reunion?

Kaley Cuoco is already longing to get the “Big Bang Theory” cast back together for a reunion.   The popular CBS sitcom aired its series finale in May of 2019. However, despite the show only being off the air for two years, Cuoco, who played Penny on the hit sitcom for all 12 seasons of its run, has signaled that she’s open to giving the show the same reunion treatment that fellow beloved sitcoms like “Will & Grace” and “Roseanne” have had in recent years. “I would definitely be open to some sort of reunion show,” the 35-year-old revealed in a recent interview with E! News. “I can’t wait for the ‘Friends’ one, and so I’m definitely open to doing one ourselves as well.”  Although she makes it clear she would be open to getting the band back together, Cuoco noted that she’s aware the show hasn’t been off the air long enough for anyone but diehard fans to be clamoring to see more from the “Big Bang Theory” gang. “It does still feel like yesterday that we wrapped,” she admitted. “I think everyone is kind of trying out their new paths and seeing what their next project is, and I’m excited to see how everyone flourishes.”
*******If it takes as long as the “Friends” reunion did, she’s right to start talking about it now!!

You gave her life everyday,” their statement said.  Kitaen appeared in a number of music videos for the rock group Whitesnake including “Here I Go Again” and the heavy metal band RATT.  She also starred in the 1984 film “Bachelor Party” starring Tom Hanks and as Jerry Seinfeld’s girlfriend in a 1991 episode of “Seinfeld.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Drank Every Night During Pandemic

Gwyneth Paltrow hit the bottle “every night” during the pandemic, in addition to gaining 14 pounds.  She concocted a lot of quinoa whiskey cocktails to help her get through the lockdown, according to The Mirror.  “I was drinking seven nights a week and making pasta and eating bread. I went totally off the rails,” Paltrow, 48, said, according to the article.  “I mean, who drinks multiple drinks seven nights a week? Like that’s not healthy. I love whiskey and I make this fantastic drink called the Buster Paltrow, which I named after my grandfather who loved whiskey sours,” she continued.  “And it’s this great quinoa whiskey from this distillery in Tennessee with maple syrup and lemon juice. It’s just heaven. I would have two of those every night of quarantine.”

Did Prince Charles Purposely Cut Out Meghan?

Followers of the royal family couldn’t help but notice Prince Charles’ recent social media post wishing grandson Archie a happy birthday didn’t include a photo of mom, Meghan Markle.  “Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today,” he captioned a photo of himself with son Harry and grandson Archie. Followers immediately made note of Markle’s absence, as she was included in other dedications to the toddler posted by other family members.  “Sad! Very sad state of affairs when the supposed future king cuts the mother of his grandchild out of the photo with which he chooses to share,” wrote one critic. “Yes, they haven’t seen Archie for over 12mnths, but to not include Meghan… it’ll only add fuel to the fire of the tabloids. #Archie.”  “Lovely picture, but where is Meghan on the picture?” another added.  “Why would you not call him your grandson and why cut his mother off?” wrote yet another disappointed Tweeter. “You have made a lot of mistakes yourself or have you forgotten that. This is not helping at all.”  Other royals were sure to include pictures of Archie with his mother within their birthday wishes, including Prince William and the Queen herself.

*******Does he have to mention that Archie is his grandson?? Doesn’t everyone know that???

FBI Releases Kurt Cobain’s Files

Kurt Cobain‘s death smelled like a conspiracy to some fans who desperately wanted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to open a murder probe into his untimely demise, according to newly released FBI files on him.  “I only wish to receive justice for and others who loved this man as much as I did. This man was Kurt Cobain, belonging to a band called Nirvana, and it was origanally [sic] thought and still accepted as the truth that he committed suicide,” one person wrote to the FBI in 2007. “There has since been evidence found that he was killed and didn’t commit suicide as originally thought.”  The letter was among 10 pages released without fanfare or notice by the FBI to “The Vault,” an online archive. Cobain committed suicide in April 1994, leaving behind wife Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean.  “We appreciate your concern that Mr. Cobain may have been the victim of a homicide,” an agent said in a boilerplate response explaining the FBI had no jurisdiction to open a murder investigation.

Dogecoin Tanks During SNL Skit

Dogecoin lost more than a third of its price on Sunday, after Elon Musk called it a ‘hustle’ during his guest-host spot on “Saturday Night Live”.  Dogecoin was quoted as low as $0.416 on crypto exchange Binance, down 36% from levels around $0.65 before the show.  Elon hosted SNL at 11:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday (0330 GMT on Sunday).  Cryptocurrency enthusiasts had for days been eager to see what he would say, after his tweets this year turned the once-obscure digital currency, which began as a social media joke, into a speculator’s dream.  Asked ‘what is dogecoin’, Musk replied, “It’s the future of currency. It’s an unstoppable financial vehicle that’s going to take over the world.”  When a show cast member Michael Che countered, “So, it’s a hustle?”, Musk replied, “Yeah, it’s a hustle,” and laughed.  Musk is the rare business mogul to have been asked to host the venerable comedy TV show. His appearance on the iconic late night show puts Musk back in the spotlight just as Tesla’s stock is losing steam following last year’s monster rally.

Kentucky Derby Winner Tests Positive For Steroids

The Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, failed a postrace drug test, once more putting the practices of his Hall of Fame trainer, Bob Baffert, the embattled sport’s most recognizable personality, under uncomfortable scrutiny.  If disqualified, Medina Spirit would be stripped of the Derby title and the winning purse, becoming only the third horse in the 147-year history of the race to receive the penalty after finishing first. The colt cannot be disqualified until testing of a sample collected at the same time as the first sample confirms the result. Baffert will then have an opportunity to appeal. In a statement, Churchill Downs officials said that if Medina Spirit’s positive test were confirmed, the Derby’s runner-up, Mandaloun, would be declared the winner.  “Given the seriousness of the alleged offense, Churchill Downs will immediately suspend Bob Baffert, the trainer of Medina Spirit, from entering any horses at Churchill Downs Racetrack,” the statement said.

Katie Dumps Emilio-(In Touch)

Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. packed on the PDA for months.  But in late April, the romance imploded.  “Katie started to get a bad feeling about the relationship,” a source says.  “Something didn’t seem right.  So she pulled away.”  Suddenly, the pair went from hot and heavy to cold as ice.  Katie, 42, knew she couldn’t string Emilio along, so she finally called the NYC based chef, 33, “and told him it was over,” says the source.  “She dumped him.”  But Emilio isn’t giving up so easily.  “He seems to be genuinely crazy about Katie,” says the source.  “He really wants to make things work, so he’s giving her all the space she needs.  The breakup was amicable, even though he was upset.  He’s hoping that in time she will realize he was the real deal and give their relationship another shot.”

Pizza Vending Machine

Rome has a new vending machine which slides out freshly cooked pizzas in just three minutes.  Buyers using the flaming red “Mr. Go Pizza” machine can choose from four different kinds of pizzas costing from 4.50 to 6 euros ($5.20–$7.20). The machine kneads and tops the dough and customers can watch the pizza cook behind a small glass window.  Reviews by customers on Thursday of the machine, one of the first in Rome, ranged from “acceptable if you’re in a hurry” to outright horror.  People have been eating forms of flat bread with toppings for millennia, but it is generally accepted that pizza was perfected in Naples, where it was a street food for the poor.

Kid Builds Ventilator Out Of LEGOS

A 7th grader from Winnetka, Illinois has created a ventilator out of Legos in an effort to help with ventilator shortages.  Anthony Hartman said he’s been creating and building things ever since he can remember. The 12-year-old used up his free time during the peaks of the pandemic to think of solutions to help those in need. In this case, he wanted to provide a solution for ventilator shortages.  In March, Hartman created his ventilator made of Legos, naming it the EVentilator2020.  “I saw a bunch of universities making respirator units that were cheaper and more affordable. I wanted to make my own version with a twist, which was the Lego piece,” said Hartman.  The 12-year-old said he will be submitting his EVentilator2020 idea to LEGO in hopes of creating a partnership in order to get his ventilators in the hands of rural medical professionals.

Delivery Shouts His Arrival

A pizza delivery driver left a woman in stitches by following the bizarre set of delivery instructions she left for him with more enthusiasm than she could ever have imagined.  Customers often use the additional information option on food orders to tell the restaurant about allergies, or provide guidance to help find the address, but one customer wanted to see how far her driver would go to fulfil a request.  A doorbell camera catches the moment the worker walks towards the front door carrying the pizzas in one hand and a drink bottle in the other, when he stops to read a handwritten note which had been left on the front door.  It instructed the driver: “Scream ‘Shannon your pizza is here.’ Don’t ring the doorbell or knock, our grandma is sleeping upstairs.”  After taking a few seconds to contemplate the request, which makes absolutely no sense, he looks around before stepping right up to the front door and absolutely bellowing “Shannon” in a voice loud enough to wake the entire neighborhood, let alone poor grandma.  The woman is left in stitches and thanks him for the impeccable service as he hands over the food, and the clip went viral after being shared on social media.  See the video HERE.

Kid Buys Tons Of Spongebob Popsicles On Amazon

Noah, a four-year-old from New York, loves SpongeBob. A lot.  Little did his mother know that he had purchased 51 cases of SpongeBob ice lollies – 918 of them to be exact – racking up a bill of $2,618.85.  The bulk order of popsicles was duly delivered to his auntie’s house.  Amazon initially told Noah’s mother, Jennifer Bryant, that they wouldn’t take back the product – leaving the social work student stuck with the bill.  They since been in contact to find a solution – and thankfully, the SpongeBob saga has a happy ending.  A fundraiser that was set up to help Ms Bryant pay for the ice cream has now raised more than $14,000, with contributions flowing in from across the US.
********Noah will be working at the Krusty Krab for the next three years to pay it all back!!

5 Effects Of The Pandemic You’re Only Just Now Feeling At Work

Huffington Post

  1. You have no motivation left to do your job.

When you reach a breaking point, your mental health suffers, and this can show up as feeling generally overwhelmed at your job and thinking, “Ugh, when is this going to be over?” Horsham-Brathwaite said.

Consequently, feeling that you have too much to deal with during an indefinite pandemic can also lead to being bored and disengaged, she said.

This lack of motivation can lead to being easily distractible, unable to concentrate and feeling “checked out” at your job, said Yesel Yoon, a psychologist who specializes in career transitions and job uncertainty.

What could be causing this disengagement? By this stage of the pandemic, we may be acutely missing the wins that raises or bonuses gave us, or much-needed breaks in the day that commuting or socializing with co-workers gave us, Yoon said.

“We’re social creatures, we’re not robots. We want things to evolve and change, and want to adapt,” she said. “And not having that much in the work space, is what is leading to this malaise … that feeling of ‘Oh, I’m so over this.’”

  1. You feel resentful when others act like it’s business as usual.

Resentment can fester when the reality between what you experience differs widely from what your bosses are saying. For many outside the C-suite, the status quo isn’t working. A Microsoft survey released in March found that 61% of business leaders say they’re “thriving” right now, while only 38% of workers without decision-making authority say the same. In fact, nearly 1 in 5 professionals in the survey said their employer doesn’t care about work-life balance, and most said they were overworked.

If people are being asked to do the same level of work without recognition that this is still a stressful time, they can feel resentment, Horsham-Brathwaite said. “What I’m hearing from people is that their employers have gone back to business as usual when it’s not business as usual.”

  1. You feel anxiety about returning to the office.

The transition to remote work was disruptive at first, but now that employees have crafted new ways of working, there may be a hesitancy to return to the office, Jessica Methot, an associate professor in Rutgers University’s School of Management and Labor Relations, told HuffPost.

More companies are either planning a return to their office spaces or actively calling workers back to their buildings. This may bring excitement for some, but for others it can prompt a lot of uncertainty and anxiety about what the post-pandemic office will look like, and whether your boss’s version of a safe communal workplace aligns with your own.

Those who are not eager to return to the office may be feeling especially wary when receiving notices for reopening plans and phases, Yoon said. “I’ve definitely heard and felt the anxiety coming up from other people of ‘Oh my gosh, what is that going to look like? How are we even going to all interact?’”

  1. You are seriously considering a job switch.

A majority of Americans surveyed by LinkedIn in March said they had put career moves on hold, citing the need to collect a steady paycheck during the pandemic and wanting to wait for a more favorable job market. For some people, the time to make a career change might be now as states announce reopening plans and vaccine availability is becoming less of an issue.

Yoon noted that professionals who initially made the choice to hunker down at their jobs may now be thinking, “‘Maybe I will go back to taking a look at my job application material and really get to work on this, because clearly this isn’t changing and I’m still unhappy,’” she said. ”I think delayed plans have reemerged back to the surface.”

Though restrictions remain in place in parts of the country, many Americans are eating at restaurants and traveling again as the U.S. economy reopens. As a result, professionals “get mixed messages,” Yoon said. “Things are still hard, but then they’re also seeing, ‘Well, the economy is moving a little bit, so there are actually jobs starting to open up’ … I think that has spurred people’s hope.”

  1. You view your career totally differently now — especially if you lost your job as a result of the pandemic.

Losing a job was an unfortunately common event last year. One Gallup poll conducted in the second half of 2020 found that over a billion people worldwide lost their jobs or business due to COVID-19.

That may be impacting how you view your career now in unseen ways. When you are laid off or fired, you not only lose a steady source of income, but you can also lose purpose and a sense of security.

People who experience job loss may internalize a risk-adverse mindset as a defense mechanism and think, “You never know what’s going to happen, so you better be happy,” or “I’m lucky for what I get, even if I’m unhappy,” Yoon said.

“If you let those messages go unchecked for too long, it can start to pervade all senses,” Yoon said. “You don’t really ever try to take any risks, you don’t question anymore. … I can imagine [for] this cohort or generation of people who have gone through this, that’ll be a ripple effect going forward. It could potentially make an impact in how they think about change in their career.”

Even if you didn’t experience job loss, you may be feeling uncertain about the future, too. But either way, you shouldn’t let thoughts like “It’s too risky” stop you from considering the career or role you want.

Yoon suggests that if you’re experiencing this sort of risk-adverse mindset about your job, you should ask yourself what exactly is risky about it so that you can begin to figure out what you need to do to reduce the risk. That way, fear is not in the driver’s seat of your career.
