The Queen To Miss The Royal Salute
For the first time in her 70-year reign, Queen Elizabeth won’t take the royal salute during the Trooping the Colour parade. The parade is held each year to officially mark the sovereign’s birthday. It’s part of the 96-year-old’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this year, which marks her seven decades on the throne. The festivities will take place on June 2nd. Historically, she has taken the salute to her troops, known as the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade. This year her son Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, as well as her daughter Princess Anne and her grandson Prince William, will take the salute instead during the military display. It is noted that the ceremony is being modified as the queen is experiencing “episodic mobility issues” and has had difficulties moving around in recent months. Elizabeth has also been delegating tasks to senior members of the royal family. Earlier this month, Buckingham Palace shared that the queen’s attendance at events through the Platinum Jubilee weekend will likely only be confirmed on “the day itself.” The queen is expected to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony following the Trooping the Colour Parade and greet the public. She will be accompanied by three of her four children and their spouses: Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall; Anne and retired Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence; and Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. William and his wife Kate Middleton will also be on the balcony with their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

David Letterman Interviewed Will Smith
Season 4 of Netflix’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” premiered Friday with Will Smith visiting the couch in the second episode. The interview is full of tidbits from Will’s life and career, including a moment where he playfully chides Letterman for talking about his mother, Caroline Bright. “Don’t say nothin’ ‘bout my mother, Dave,” Smith chidingly told the former “Late Show” emcee. While viewers were also hoping that he would talk about the infamous Oscars slap with the seasoned talk show host, fans were in for a big disappointment to find out that the episode was filmed before March 2022 — when he caused a stir by running onto the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and smacking Chris Rock in the face. “The episode was recorded prior to the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony,” a PSA title card read before the episode rolled.
********Dave’s smart!! He didn’t give Will a reason to get violent!!
******Will could have grabbed him by the beard and tossed him around the room!!

Dave Chappelle Attacker Gives His Reason
The man who charged Dave Chappelle on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles earlier this month said he attacked the comedian because he found the show’s content “triggering.” “I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” Isaiah Lee told the New York Post exclusively from the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. He implored Chappelle to be more sensitive, adding: “I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.” Lee’s experience at the “Dave Chappelle and Friends” show, which was part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, took a turn when Chappelle started talking about controversies stemming from jokes he’s made about transgender people and when he joked about homelessness. Lee said he’s a single dad and has experienced homelessness. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke,” he said. But it wasn’t Chappelle who ultimately set Lee off. He said another comedian in the show made a joke about pedophilia and, having been molested, was triggered. The LAPD said Lee jumped onstage and attacked Chappelle just as he was about to leave. If he is convicted on the misdemeanor counts, Lee faces up to 1½ years in jail and a $4,000 fine.
*********That’s a good idea!! Comedians should pass around a survey before each show and make sure no one will be offended!!
*******Every good joke is offensive to SOMEBODY!!

Kurt Cobain Guitar Sells Big
Kurt Cobain’s iconic guitar used in the video for Nirvana’s lead single “Smells Like Teen Spirit” has been sold at auction for $4,550,000. The guitar, a 1969 left-handed Fender Mustang, was expected to sell between $600,000 to $80,000, according to Julien’s Auctions. The “Lake Placid Blue” guitar was bought by the Jim Irsay Collection, based in Indianapolis. The Cobain family, which owned the guitar before it sold, is donating some of the proceeds to Kicking The Stigma, the Irsays’ initiative to raise awareness about mental health, according to the collection. Cobain’s guitar was also used in the studio while Nirvana recorded their albums “Nevermind” and “In Utero,” as well as numerous prominent live performances, according to Julien’s. It was named one of the 150 of the most important guitars of all time to be featured in the book The Guitar Collection, according to the auction house. Before being auctioned off, the guitar was on tour in Beverly Hills, London and Indianapolis and then was on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City’s Times Square, according to the Jim Irsay collection.

Runaway Kangaroo
Animal rescuers were summoned to a warehouse office in Australia when a mother kangaroo with a joey in her pouch somehow found her way into the building. Andrew Hargreaves said he went into the back of his office in the Richmond area of Adelaide to find a customer’s order and was shocked to come face to face with a kangaroo. “I gave it some water, some bread. It was actually coming up to me, so it was quite friendly, quite calm. And then it started coming into the showroom, just walking around customers,” Hargreaves told 9News. Animal group Fauna Rescue was summoned to the business to escort the kangaroo outside. Rescuers said the kangaroo resisted and kicked at them before being safely ushered into a carrier. The rescuers then discovered the kangaroo was a mother with a joey in her pouch. “Kangaroos get quite defensive when cornered in that situation,” Simon Adamcyzk of Fauna Rescue said. Hargreaves said he was unable to determine how the kangaroo got into the building. The kangaroo was released outside the city.

Paper Airplane Record
A trio of paper aircraft enthusiasts broke a Guinness World Record in South Korea when they sent a folded plane for a flight of 252 feet, 7 inches. The paper airplane was designed by Chee Yie Jian of Malaysia, folded by Shin Moo Joon of South Korea and thrown into the air by Kim Kyu Tae of South Korea. Kim threw the plane eight times, achieving a distance of 252 feet and 7 inches with his best throw. The throw took the Guinness World Record for farthest flight of a paper aircraft from quarterback Joe Ayoob and paper airplane designer John M. Collins, whose folded flying machine reached a distance of 226 feet and 10 inches in 2012. “My design coupled with Shin’s wing mods/adjustments and Kim’s ‘rocket arm’ is a winning combination, so I wasn’t worried,” Chee Yie Jian told Guinness World Records. Woman Gives Birth During Metallica Concert
A woman gave birth at a Metallica concert in Curitiba, Brazil. As told on Instagram in posts that were shared by the band, Metallica fan Joice M Figueiró was 39 weeks pregnant when she attended the show at the Estádio Couto Pereira, before going into labor during the set. Despite medics arriving on the scene and attempting to take Joice to a local hospital by ambulance, the baby was ready to arrive and had to be delivered at the venue as Metallica were still wrapping up their show. Thankfully, a beautiful baby boy was born safely, in Joice’s own words, “to the sound of Enter Sandman”, noting that her son Luan “came to the world on 07/05/2022 at 23:15, shaking all the metal structures.” “Every show I go to, something has to happen, but this time I think I’ve outdone myself,” Joice joked, later acknowledging in two Instagram stories that her experience had gone viral and adding that she was “great physically and trying to understand how this happened.” “He was born right there, in Couto Pereira, to the sound of Metallica,” she noted via a story. “Everyone was surprised at what is happening.”
**********Of course, the baby is deaf, but…

The 7 Personalities Of Bad Bosses Who Think They’re Good Bosses
HUFFINGTON POST
1) The Rescuer
This is a bad boss who may seem like a good boss at first. If you have any trouble with a project, they’ll just take over. Any conflict with a client, they’ll deal with it for you.
Consultant Peter Block identified this work archetype as the “rescuer” in his book “The Empowered Manager: Positive Political Skills at Work.” According to Block, the rescuer is someone who is highly sensitive to discomfort and believes “the path to power, influence and gaining some control over the situation is to save other people’s lives.”
Brown said rescuers come from a place of thinking they’re protecting you from failure, and are bad at giving you honest feedback and more responsibilities as a result.
“When you have a rescuer, they pride themselves on being there to support you, so you really don’t have any space not only to make mistakes, but you also have a limited amount of growth,” Brown said. “Because part of rescuing, or being helpful, is a control mechanism for them.”
2) The Politician
The “politician” is good at managing the bosses above them and terrible at managing the people who report directly to them. They are good at public relations for your team, but they lack the will or the skill to be a good team leader.
“The executive team thinks your team is doing a good job, your projects get lauded at company all-hands… but actually this manager is never meeting with you, never giving helpful feedback, or even at all actually involved in the day-to-day,” said Lara Hogan, author of “Resilient Management” and a former vice president of engineering at Kickstarter.
Hogan said this kind of boss can cause bigger issues down the road, because they tend not to find out about team problems that should have been addressed or raised earlier. “Long-term, it often ends in disaster, because this person never did their first responsibility, which is managing the team,” Hogan said.
Her advice if you’re an employee of this kind of boss? Make sure that you build relationships with your manager’s peers, or other people in positions of power, and go to them for feedback and support. The goal is for more people to know what a great job you’re doing. “Spread the surface area of how you’re being managed,” Hogan advised.
3) The Great Manager Who Can’t Manage Up
This is a boss who is great at managing their own team, but is bad at dealing with the bosses above them. They believe in your work, but they lack the office-politics savvy to make sure others in positions of power do, too.
“They listen to you, they are completely involved in your work in a positive way, you trust them, they trust you,” Hogan said. “And then you realize nobody at the upper level has any idea what your team is doing, and you lose headcount. Your road map doesn’t get prioritized, you might get [reorganized].”
Because this boss is bad at lobbying on your team’s behalf, your team might lose out on valuable funding ― and team members might not get promotions or raises they deserve, since there’s usually more than one person who has a say in who gets these career rewards, Hogan said.
4) The People-Pleaser
You may sometimes benefit from a people-pleasing boss’ attempts to sway you to their side, but ultimately this manager is a hazard to work for. They believe getting ahead means giving others what they want, even when accountability is needed to maintain trust on a team.
They’ll make many verbal commitments, but they won’t follow through to make a tangible difference. “The people pleasers I’ve worked with never actually do anything, because it’s all words,” Hogan said.
Managers who get too invested in “being nice” are bosses who rule by “ruinous empathy,” as Kim Scott writes in “Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity.” Per Scott, these bosses “create the kind of work environment where ‘being nice’ is prioritized at the expense of critiquing, and therefore, improving actual performance.” Without necessary criticism, your career is likely to stall and you may even get fired.
5) The Numbers Boss
A “numbers boss” becomes an ineffective leader when every insight and decision has to be backed by data or a pattern.
If you need numbers to make every decision, you cannot make long-term plans. “I’ve worked with managers who require that every single thing be an A/B test, whether or not it makes sense ― to the point where no work could get done, because everything needed an experiment to come back,” Hogan said. “The person who is obsessed with data […] doesn’t have a long-term plan. Everything is short-term, numbers-based decisions, which means you never end up with a vision.”
Creativity can also be a weakness for numbers people. As Brown put it: “They’ll say they want creativity, but how are you supposed to have creativity if everything you do has to be proven?”
6) The Lone Wolf
In her e-book “How To Be A Successful First Time Manager: Identify Your Leadership Style, Lay The Groundwork for a Positive Team Culture, and Give Better Feedback,” Brown writes that “lone wolf” bosses are known for their deep need for autonomy, are easily misunderstood and have limited and cordial interactions with others.
Brown says the benefit of working under a lone wolf is that they have a strong work ethic and they value assertiveness in team members. She said they often thrive at startups where succeeding means taking on multiple roles at once.
But the downside is that this rebel boss often changes plans at the last minute, creating tension on their teams. “What makes them toxic is everyone will get together in a team and make a decision, and the lone wolf later on will be like, ‘No, I’m going to [do] this.’”
7) The Know-It-All
While numbers people want you to make all decisions based on data, know-it-alls want you to make decisions based on just their knowledge. They often give feedback like “Well if I were you, I would have done it like this,” or “Well, it only took me three months,” Brown said. Know-it-alls are unable to account for times when their information is limited or outdated.
On some level, what the know-it-all wants is a clone who works and thinks exactly as they do. They want you to develop your career how they did it.
“They are people who you constantly feel like you’re in comparison mode with, but you don’t feel like they are accounting for the fact that, one, you are not them, and two, that the circumstances and environment may be different,” Brown said. “You always feel like you fall short because you’re not doing it their way.”
