Kanye West Wishes Pete Davidson Well On His Future Endeavors

Over the weekend, celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson broke up.  Kanye West has been at war with Davidson ever since the news came out that he was dating his ex-wife earlier this year. He could not stop posting and deleting posts on social media about “Skete” Davidson, Kardashian and the handling of his daughter.  Kanye thinking he was at war was not an exaggeration. In February, he photoshopped his face on a poster from the 2016 Marvel movie, Civil War, while also photoshopping the faces of everyone on his side and everyone on Davidson’s side. It was getting to a point where Kanye was looking obsessive. But now social media no longer has to wonder what Kanye’s thinking now. He’s making sure everyone knows exactly what’s on his mind.  In a post on Instagram, West shared an image of a New York Times front page that reads, “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28.” If you thought West couldn’t get any pettier, he also included a caption that read, “Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers.” This is a direct reference to when Cudi replaced Kanye as the headliner for Rolling Loud Miami and people in the crowd threw bottles at him on stage, causing him to leave.

Ashton Kutcher Opens Up About Autoimmune Disorder

Ashton Kutcher revealed that an autoimmune disorder left him without the ability to see, hear or walk.  “Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that, like, knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out, like, all my equilibrium,” Kutcher, 44, said in a sneak peek of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge” obtained by “Access Hollywood.”  He said it took him about a year to build each sense back up again.  Vasculitis is a very rare autoimmune disorder that can cause inflammation of the blood vessels, resulting in restricted blood flow, according to the Mayo Clinic. There are many types of vasculitis, but most affect at least one organ.  “You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” Kutcher shared. “Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again.’  “[I’m] lucky to be alive,” he added.

A former stripper, who claimed Prince Harry, handed her his underwear after stripping down in a Las Vegas hotel suite 10 years ago, is selling them.  Carrie Reichert told The Mirror last month that said she hopes the prince’s black briefs are a reminder of the “fun Harry” before the he settled down and became “a bore”.  “When he partied in Vegas, everyone loved him and his sense of fun,” she said in the July 26 interview.  “Harry has become such a bore, it’s a real shame,” she continued at the time. “At least these pants are a reminder of what he used to be like … when Harry was the fun prince.”  She will return to Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club — where Harry is believed to have partied in 2012 — for the underwear auction on Thursday.  “It’s a shame he’s all po-faced and serious these days. Even as a married dad of two, he should still let his hair down now and again – what’s left of it any way,” she said, referencing Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 1.  The auction comes 10 years after he was photographed cupping his crown jewels while hugging a woman in a VIP hotel room.  Reichert, who was 27 at the time, claims Harry was already in the nude when she arrived at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas for the party.

Anne Heche Investigated For DUI

Anne Heche will have to give a blood sample to police after crashing her car into a home in Los Angeles.  The LAPD received a warrant to test her blood to see if she was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the crash, TMZ reported Monday.  Officers believe she was intoxicated when she plowed her blue Mini Cooper into a house Friday and sustained severe burns after the vehicle caught fire, but her blood test results could take weeks, the outlet noted.  Sources also told TMZ that, at the minimum, the LAPD will refer Heche’s case to the LA City attorney, who could press hit-and-run charges, as she reportedly slammed into a garage and drove off before driving into the nearby house.

Jewel’s Tour Bus Catches Fire

Jewel showed the aftermath of a frightening fire that recently engulfed her bus in a video posted to TikTok Sunday.  “We had a full bus fire. Nobody was hurt,” she said in the video, which featured several photos of the burned-up vehicle.  She shared that the blaze started in the parking lot of a hotel on an “off day,” prompting an employee at the front desk to call the bus driver and the fire department.  “Everybody is safe,” she said, adding, “We saved the vintage guitar and guitar amp.”   She also thanked the firefighters and first responders as well as her bus driver, calling him a “hero for saving the vintage gear.”  “All’s well that ends well, but how ’bout this bulls–t?” she concluded the video.  Jewel included photos of the outside of the bus looking ruined with shattered windows as well as the scorched interior, where the seating was singed and only a few clothing items appeared to remain intact.

Top Gun: Maverick Highest Grossing

Top Gun: Maverick has overtaken Titanic to become the seventh highest-grossing movie ever at the US box office, earning $662 million in ticket sales.  According to Box Office Mojo’s latest statistics, the Tom Cruise-led sequel has surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic by more than $3 million to become the seventh biggest film of all time at the US box office. It is now positioned behind Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, which currently ranks as the sixth highest grossing release in the US with $678 million.  It’s hit several major milestones since its release in May, becoming Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film of all time and Paramount’s number one movie at the US box office ahead of Titanic. However, Titanic is still outpacing Maverick outside of North America with $1.5 billion at the international box office and a worldwide total of $2.2 billion.  Maverick has also earned more than $1 billion at the global box office and become the highest-grossing movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office ahead of both Jurassic World: Dominion and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It also became the first film to pass $1 billion since Spider-Man: No Way Home earned $1.9 billion in ticket sales last year.

Man Destroys Parking Lot With Excavator

A Utah man was arrested Saturday after authorities say he stole an excavator from a construction site and drove it a mile to a grocery store in Salt Lake City, where he used the machinery to rip up the parking lot.  Police began investigating around 12 p.m. after receiving calls about a man “randomly” digging a grass strip and sidewalk outside Smith’s grocery store at 828 South 900 West, the Salt Lake Police Department said.   Video and photos shared by the department show a freshly dug muddy trench in the store’s parking lot. Police said the suspect caused significant damage after hitting a water pipe and ripping out fiber optics utility lines that were recently installed. Utility crews determined there was no gas leak and were assessing the extent of the damage. A group of witnesses stopped the suspect from leaving the scene until officers arrived.

Florida Couple Arrested For Sick Acts

A Florida woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly committing sexual acts with her dog while her ex-boyfriend, who was also arrested, recorded on video, police said.  Christina Calello, 36, “willingly engaged in sexual activity with the dog on multiple occasions” over the course of roughly eight years, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department.  Her ex-lover, 39-year-old Geoffrey Springer, of Largo, allegedly recorded the encounters and put them on a hard drive.  The dog, which had no visible injuries, was taken to an animal hospital by deputies for a routine examination. The nature of the sexual acts was not disclosed by police.

Alligator Hangs Out At The Dollar Tree

A Georgia woman captured video of an unusual close encounter when she spotted an alligator outside the front door of a Dollar Tree store.  Steffany Fallen posted a video to Facebook showing the alligator she found on the sidewalk outside the store on Laney Walker in Augusta.  The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said personnel responded to the scene and transported the 4 1/2-foot gator to Thompson to be tagged.  The alligator was released into the Savannah River in South Augusta, the DNR said.

Pigs Like Different Kinds Of Music

Scientists in Belgium are investigating a farmer’s claim that different styles of music affect the behavior of his pigs. Piet Paesmans first noticed the phenomenon when his son started singing a tune in the barn during a sluggish insemination session his sows seemed excited and started wagging their tails.  “I thought this is too good to pass up, we should try that with the other pigs too,” Paesmans told Reuters from his farm.  He has since created a playlist to coincide with different parts of the day, playing energetic music when he wants the pigs to be active and lullabies at the end of the day.  “Jolly dance songs are the biggest hits. They really start wagging their tails and when it’s really dynamic they even start dancing around and frolicking. Rock music is too strong, they don’t like it,” Paesmans said.  The farmer tipped off a team of researchers who have secured $76,770 of financing from an EU fund and the Belgian region of Flanders to investigate the claims.  The results of the research are expected by the end of the year.

6 Ways to Get Military Travel Discounts

1. Veterans Holidays

Veterans Holidays, part of hospitality company Wyndham Worldwide, offers veterans resort stays for $379 a week on a space-available basis. That’s less than $100 per night for a spacious condo that includes a kitchen, living room and oftentimes a pool and other resort-style amenities.

The company can connect retired military personnel and their families with more than 200,000 resort accommodations in more than 100 countries. All U.S. military veterans are eligible for a free membership with Veterans Holidays, which can help make trips to the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia more affordable.  Though only veterans can make reservations through Veterans Holidays, the company has a family policy that states veterans are welcome to bring guests with them on trips. And, as a final bonus, even though the Armed Forces Vacation Club is just that — a club — its membership is entirely free to veterans, who only need to create an online account to activate these perks for amazing travel deals.

 

2. Wounded Warriors Family Support Retreats

The nonprofit Wounded Warriors Family Support provides a wide variety of assistance to military members and their families. One such avenue of support is the Wounded Warriors Family Support Retreats.

The Retreats have two options — families can apply within the organization to spend five nights at Universal Studios and LEGOLAND theme parks in Orlando, Florida, entirely for free.  Or, families can apply to have a no-cost “staycation” where the Wounded Warriors Family Support organization covers the fees associated with a family staying local and exploring a new hotel, concert or restaurant.  The Wounded Warrior Family Support nonprofit describes both their Florida and staycation options as ways to destress, decompress and take time to strengthen the bonds and relationships military members have with family.

 

3. Disney Resorts and Theme Parks

The “happiest place on earth” offers veterans and military service members some sweet deals.  This year, military personnel can choose between a Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Ticket for $359 plus tax or a 5-Day Military Promotional Ticket for $379 plus tax, both of which include the “park hopper” option to jump between Orlando parks.

That’s a savings of about $60 for either ticket normally priced at nearly $400, and allows entry to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom all in one trip.  All active or retired members of the military and their spouses are eligible for this deep discount. Military personnel can purchase up to six discounted tickets to share with family and friends.

Disney also has a special, military-only resort called Shades of Green, which offers incredible deals depending on the room type. Rates are just $154 per night for a standard room type, and begin at $379 per night for a family suite that can sleep up to eight people and includes one king bed and up to three queen beds. The resort also offers deals up to 40% off throughout the year.  Staying at Shades of Green can also help you get up to 12% off full-priced tickets with no tax to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, Busch Gardens and other central Florida attractions.

 

4. Travel Companies

Though many airlines and cruise companies offer military rates, most don’t advertise them online. It’s best to call and ask directly about their discounts.  Many offer discounts to members of Veterans Advantage, which provides members of the five branches with deals, insurance and financial services for $10/month when paid monthly or $60 for an annual membership when paid in-full and up-front.

 

Companies Offering Military Discounts

Here’s a sampling of travel companies that offer discounts to veterans and military personnel:

Air Travel

• United Airlines offers up to 5% discount on airfare to military veterans, active duty service members and their families in the U.S. and Canada.
• Delta offers a free checked bagfor active duty members as well as special pricing on airfare for their vacation packages (call to find out more about how to reserve special vacation package pricing).
• American Airlines offers up to 10% off domestic and international flightsas well as numerous free checked bags for active-duty military.
• JetBlue also offers a 5% discountfor veterans and a special military fare for active-duty personnel not traveling on orders. JetBlue also waives baggage fees for active-duty personnel and includes a family policy of also waiving baggage fees for dependents.

Train Travel

• Amtrak offers a 10% discountto veterans and family members traveling by train.
• Veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area are eligible for a BART discount card, valid for five years to ride the rapid transit system.

Bus Travel

• Trailwaysoffers a standing 15% discount to all veterans and active-duty military, including spouses and dependents.

Cruise Travel

• Carnivaland Royal Caribbean cruises offer special military prices, but you’ll need to call to ask about potential travel dates to get the best deal.
• Disney Cruisesalso offer discounted pricing for members of the armed forces. While they do update their wide variety of cruises and special pricing regularly, it’s best to call a Disney representative to get the most up-to-date information.
• Princess Cruisesoffer up to $250 of free onboard spending money, valid on any cruise at any time of year.

Car Rentals

• Hertz provides discounted rates of up to 10% off the base daily rateof their car rentals for active-duty military and veterans alike.
• Enterprise offers rates of at least 5% off the base ratefor rental cars that are being used for leisure travel by government and military officials.
• Budget has one of the best military discounts yet — 25% off base rateswhen members of the American forces sign up for a free Veterans Advantage account.
• Avis also provides the military community with 25% off base rateswhen folks sign up for Avis’ free Veterans Advantage program.

 

5. “Space A” Flights

If you’re an active-duty or retired military service member, and you have flexibility with your travel dates, you can participate in “Space A,” or space available, flights.  Here’s how it works: If you’re eligible, you can complete a booking request at various military terminals. When a seat on a Department of Defense flight becomes available, you’ll be notified. Terminals typically post flight schedules 72 hours in advance, so you have to be prepared to depart at a moment’s notice.

Space A travelers usually pay a small fee levied by the military terminal, but otherwise, these flights are free and are available to military and their immediate family.  Kristin Mickelson, a Navy veteran whose husband is also in the Navy, saved $8,000 on two round-trip flights from Norfolk, Virginia, to Seattle with her family of four.

Keep in mind, this is a lot like traveling standby on a commercial airline. You may be stuck waiting around for a flight to and from your desired destination. Sometimes, you’re flying on a cargo plane, which can mean you’re traveling without many of the comforts of commercial flights.  “Military Space-A flights have been a major element of our strategy for saving money on our frequent travels since my husband retired from the Army in 2015,” wrote the spouse of a retired Army member on the Poppin’ Smoke military travel site. “I estimate that during our last 6+ years of world travel, we’ve saved more than $20,000 by taking (Space-A flights).”

 

6. Travel Supplies

So you have your Space-A flights booked and your well-deserved free stay at a resort is tantalizingly close, but now you need to pack!  Fortunately, veterans and members of the American forces can get big military discounts on travel gear, too.  One way to save upwards of 10% on travel items is to visit Shop My Exchange. While anyone can visit the Shop My Exchange site, in order to purchase any items, you’ll need to create an account where you verify your military service.

Shop My Exchange is a huge online catalog of products ranging from jewelry and watches to furniture and small appliances – and travel items, like swimwear and luggage, too.  All items are steeply discounted for veterans and active duty military. For example, you can get the normally-$257 Piel leather duffel bag for $194 via Shop My Exchange when logged in.

You can also check out their men’s and women’s swimwear sections to make sure you’re fully prepared for that next trip to Disney — without breaking your budget.
