Queen Elizabeth II won’t step down anytime soon. The claim was made by Dickie Arbiter, the reigning monarch’s former press spokesman, amid concerns over her health after the 95-year-old cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland this week following medical advice. “Remembrance Day is coming up and is sacred in her diary,” Arbiter told “Good Morning Britain” on Thursday. “To suggest she’ll back down is patronizing and fighting fire – the queen will instead ask her officials to pace her engagements more.” Arbiter told the outlet that there’s a good reason why the queen won’t step down. “During her coronation, she made a vow in the eyes of God, and you can’t compare that promise to the pope retiring,” he explained. “The queen has had a very strenuous few days ago, which is why doctors probably advised her to cancel her upcoming trip.” “It’s a lot to ask of anyone any age – even when she’s not at engagements the monarch has mounds of paperwork to go through,” he shared.

Jackson Family Hosting Halloween Event
Michael Jackson’s son Prince Jackson is hosting the annual “Thriller Nights” at the Jackson family estate this year after skipping the in-person event last year due to the pandemic. The costume party will take place Oct. 29 from 7 p.m. to midnight, according to a recent Q&A Prince participated in on his Instagram. The number of people in attendance at the party will be limited due to coronavirus restrictions. “It’s going to be a fun night to get back together and celebrate the charity, celebrate the work that we’ve done, but also celebrate the life and legacy of my father and all that he’s contributed to the music industry as well as to the month of October with the great song ‘Thriller,'” Prince said during the Instagram Live. The night will benefit the Heal Los Angeles Foundation. The charity’s mission is “to raise the quality of life for inner-city youth of Los Angeles by furnishing access to co-curricular educational initiatives that will emphasize the value of an active, healthy lifestyle, and provide the tools needed to earn an education,” according to the organization’s Facebook page. In a separate statement, Prince said it’s “so great” to be sharing the event with everyone. “I’m so excited to host our event this year; although we had a virtual event with Omarion in 2020, there’s magic on the Hayvenhurst property and it’s so great to be able to share it with everyone after we’ve been cooped up for almost a year,” Prince said in the statement (via “Good Morning America”).

Lori Loughlin Trying To Go To Mexico
Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, who recently traveled to Cabo San Lucas after spending time in the slammer for their roles in the 2019 college admissions scandal, have asked a judge for permission to return to Mexico for a wedding. They filed court documents seeking approval for a trip to San Jose del Cabo from Nov. 5 to Nov. 12, according to TMZ. They noted in their request that they have been complying with the terms of their probation since being sprung from prison. Loughlin cited the $150,000 fine she has paid and her community service, while Giannulli said he has paid a $250,000 fine and was making progress with his community service. The couple added that their probation officers have backed their travel request, which has not yet been granted.

Former The View co-host Meghan McCain says she was “bullied” out of her job on the show. She discussed her exit on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live ahead of the release of her tell-all audio memoir, Bad Republican. McCain left The View in August after four seasons. On WWHL, McCain was asked about her conflicts with co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg and if she expects to hear from them after the book. “You know, I really — I think the stuff with Whoopi has been really blown up. I have nothing but respect,” McCain said. “I adore Whoopi and I love her. I think things went off the rails, and I was trying to give context to my experience leaving,” she added of her memoir. “I adore Whoopi. She’s an American icon. I have more love for her than anything else. I just wanted to explain myself and the things that happened.” McCain was then asked if she takes any responsibility for the alleged “toxicity” on The View. “Yeah, you know, that’s a really interesting question. Only one person was bullied out of their job and doesn’t work there anymore,” she said. Puppy Rescued
Police and firefighters in New York came to the rescue of a puppy that became trapped in her family’s bathtub when her paw got stuck in the drain. The Sleepy Hollow Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers responded to a local home where a 1-year-old Chihuahua named Daisy had gotten her paw stuck in a bathtub drain. Police said Daisy’s paw had become swollen, causing her family to call for help rather than risk injuring the canine by pulling her paw free. A crew from the Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Fire Department and personnel from the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department were summoned to assist with the rescue. Firefighters contacted local business Donovan’s Plumbing and a plumber arrived on the scene to partially disassemble the drain. See the pic HERE.

Couple Ride In Cooking Pot To Wedding
An Indian couple living in a region that experienced severe flooding took an unusual vehicle to reach their wedding venue — a cooking pot. Akash Kunjumon said he and his wife, Aishwarya, were legally married Oct. 6, but their wedding ceremony was planned for Oct. 18. Kunjumon said the ceremony was originally to have been held at a temple at Thalavady, but recent floods caused the religious building to be filled with water, so the event was moved to a nearby hall with a stage that had not been submerged. “Although we tried to arrange a small boat to reach the venue, none was available,” Kunjumon told The Hindu. He said officials at the temple provided an alternative solution. “People from the temple arranged the pot for us,” he told The Washington Post. The couple climbed into a large cooking pot, and a video shows them being pushed through the floodwaters to reach the event hall.

Maria Wattel, 41, said her friend, Olivier Richters, suggested she apply for the Guinness World Record after he was verified as the tallest male bodybuilder in the world by the record-keeping organization. Wattel said she began bodybuilding at age 19 and started to compete in March 2005. She said competing posed a challenge because organizers had difficulty placing her in categories due to her height. “I had competitions where I was not judged or judged only through something genetic that I cannot help, like being tall,” she told Guinness. Wattel said she considers the world record to be “a little crown” on her bodybuilding career.

Florida Man Marries His Goddaughter
A 61-year-old Florida man is under fire after news of his wedding went viral for all of the wrong reasons. Michael Haugabook is being labeled as a predator after he was accused of marrying Deja Haugabook as soon as she turned 18. Deja is also Michael’s goddaughter and the two shared family history prior to their controversial nuptials. Word of the union surfaced online through a tweet claiming that Michael started dating Deja after he dated her mother Davina Evans first. “You guyssss!!! This girl is 18 and she just married her Godfather who used to date her mom. He’s 46 or 47,” the tweet read. “They have a 2-year-old daughter and he has 3 other kids. He’s been “dating” and grooming her since she was 14. I’m sick to my stomach.” While the tweet claimed that Michael was in his 40s, other online claims say a document from Michael’s 2014 arrest shows he was 54 at the time, meaning he’s 61 now. Old photos show Michael holding Deja when she was just a toddler, further hinting at the family dynamic they once shared. In receipts posted online, Michael’s old Facebook post shows him referring to Davina as his goddaughter with Deja’s mother thanking him and saying “love you babes.” When Deja was 17, she admitted to dating someone but kept his identity a secret until she turned 18.

The Most Meaningless, Unhelpful Feedback People Get At Work

Popular but vague words of encouragement like this are not actually helpful, because they aren’t tied to a specific outcome related to the role or the organization. The person hearing it doesn’t “know why they did a great job, what exactly they did a great job at. They don’t know how their great job has an impact. It’s just not very useful,” Gavin said.
It doesn’t encourage anyone to keep up the good work, either.
“The problem with this type of feedback ― although it feels great to receive it ― is that it is not reinforcing any behaviors. In order to turn meaningless feedback into something that will encourage employees to continue to perform, the feedback must be very specific,” said Angela Karachristos, a career coach who has worked in human resources.
“Instead of saying, ‘good job,’ the manager should say give a specific example of what the person did well so that those positive behaviors can be repeated,” she said.
Often, giving too much unhelpful praise is a people-pleasing mistake that first-time managers make as a way to make up for negative experiences they personally had on a team. “A lot of managers over-correct and really lay on the praise, and not give the kind of support through constructive criticism that actually helps people grow,” Gavin said.

Bad criticism stops with what someone did wrong, while good criticism gives them a clear path of what needs to happen differently and how they can do it better next time.
“If you just tell someone, ‘Hey, you missed that deadline, that caused problems,’ sure, that might be valid, but it doesn’t give space to improve with whatever context that person is working in,” Gavin said. “It doesn’t create a conversation where the problem can be solved.”
Gavin said subjective, vague feedback such as, “I don’t like that,” “That doesn’t work for me,” or “I’ve never heard that before” stems from someone reaching into “their own subjective experience and not bringing any other external factors in.”
A better method is to be specific about what’s going wrong, or to have the humility to note that the feedback is just an opinion. It’s the difference between “‘Those colors seem very jarring to me, that’s just how they look to my eye,’ versus ‘I don’t like that, I don’t like that design,’” Gavin said.

In her book “Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity,” management expert Kim Scott writes that a lot of bad work criticism falls into the trap of highlighting personal traits rather than having external causes of a problem acknowledged.
“It’s easier to say, ‘You’re sloppy’ than to say ‘You’ve been working nights and weekends, and it’s starting to take a toll on your ability to catch mistakes in your logic.’ But it’s also far less helpful,” Scott writes, noting that better criticism makes it clear that a work problem is not “due to some unfixable personality flaw,” and can be used as a tool for improvement.
Karachristos said that a common example of this kind of personal criticism is “You need to work on your attitude.” “Any type of feedback that is focused on the person or that person’s personality, and not the work, can be very problematic,” she said.
At worst, when job performance feedback is tied to a person’s identity, it can be used to hold their career back. Women of color, in particular, are given subjective labels like “difficult,” “angry” or “challenging” in performance reviews ― words that signal they are not a “fit” in a workplace or don’t “fit” a manager’s homogenous idea of success.
Nadia De Ala, founder of Real You Leadership, a group coaching program for women of color, said her clients deal with feedback ― often unsolicited ― about their natural tone of voice and how they dress, rather than about actual points of improvement on their work. One client asked a co-worker for help with compiling marketing research for a promotion and was told, “You’re not going to get promoted if your voice goes up at the end of sentences. You don’t sound confident.”
“This type of feedback was unhelpful because it was unsolicited advice and had nothing to do with market research,” De Ala said.
It speaks to how feedback is not just words: It can make or break an employee’s experience and even push them to leave. Gallup research found that when a boss’ feedback makes employees feel demotivated, disappointed or depressed, four out of five of those employees start to job-hunt.
