JLo and Ben Get Matching Tats
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck revealed that they marked their first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife by getting complementary tattoos. A set of photos shared by Lopez features her showing off her new tattoo — an infinity sign that appears to have the names “Jennifer” and “Ben” written in cursive. An arrow also goes through the middle of the symbol, which sits above Lopez’s ribcage. Lopez also posted a snap of Affleck’s new ink. The Air actor’s tattoo has two arrows crossing one another. The letter “J” is seen above the crossed arrows while the letter “B” is below. Lopez also threw in a few fun photos of the pair, including one in which she and Affleck appear to recreate an iconic scene from her 2002 “Jenny from the Block” music video. In that picture, Affleck is seen with his hand on his wife’s famous derrière as she smiles. “Commitment Happy Valentine’s Day my love,” Lopez captioned the photos, teasing that she would share more details in the near future in her On the J Lo newsletter.

Rust To Resume Filming
Production of Alec Baldwin’s “Rust,” which has been marred by the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, is set to resume this spring, the producers said Tuesday. Hutchins was killed by a bullet from a gun Baldwin was holding in 2021. Baldwin is facing civil action and criminal charges over it. Matthew Hutchins, the widower of Halyna Hutchins, will join as an executive producer on the movie, along with the original producers. Bianca Cline, the cinematographer for the Oscar-nominated “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” will take over as the “Rust” cinematographer. Cline is donating her salary to a charity in honor of Hutchins and says she will aim to complete the original vision. Matthew Hutchins will also serve as an executive producer of a new documentary on his late wife’s life and work. The “Rust” production company has hired new “safety officers” to help oversee filming and said it will not allow any working weapons or any form of ammunition on set. “Rust” director Joel Souza, who was shot in the shoulder by the same bullet that killed Hutchins, will stay in his role, along with the original stunt coordinator, costume designer and other crew members. “Though bittersweet, I am grateful that a brilliant and dedicated new production team joining former cast and crew are committed to completing what Halyna and I started,” said Souza. The next hearing in the criminal case is set for Feb. 24.

Tom Cruise Credited For Saving Hollywood
Steven Spielberg wasted no time giving Tom Cruise his well-deserved flowers at the Academy Awards luncheon on Monday. Pulling Cruise in for a hug, Spielberg told him that he “saved Hollywood’s ass” with his hit blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” — which scooped up a Best Picture nomination. “You saved Hollywood’s ass, and you might have saved theatrical distribution,” Spielberg tells Cruise in the clip. “Seriously, ’Maverick’ might have saved the entire theatrical industry.” The film, a sequel to Cruise’s 1986 classic, grossed an eye-watering $1.48 billion worldwide since its release in May last year. It also racked up an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. The pair, who previously worked together on “Minority Report” and “War of the Worlds,” shared the sweet exchange at the star-studded event, during which Cruise debuted a striking new look.

HBO’s “Velma” Under Fire Again
“Velma,” the HBO spinoff of “Scooby-Doo,” that has been repeatedly called out for issues such as sexualizing minors and pushing a woke agenda, is now in hot water over a crass joke at the expense of those who suffer sickle cell anemia. The HBO Max show has been picked up for a second season, despite ending up as the third worst-reviewed show in Internet Movie Database (IMDB) history. All of this comes as the show is now under fire for a joke that tied attractiveness to the blood disorder sickle cell anemia. As noted by the entertainment site Bounding Into Comics, longtime “Scooby Doo” character Fred tells Velma “I have a disease where I can’t recognize people who aren’t hot…. My doctor says it’s basically sickle cell for rich people.” The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America called out the joke: The new “Scooby-Doo” spinoff includes nudity, gratuitous violence, and an “oozing corpse” in one episode. It became the third worst-rated show in history on the entertainment site IMDB in January. During episode four, titled, “Velma Makes a List,” the new series made multiple jokes about children in a sexual manner. In episode four, the town’s mayor lusted after high school girls. Another episode featured Velma going to a strip club and pole dancing for her father.

Contestant Burns Penis On Reality Show
“Naked and Afraid” contestant Sam Mouzer burned his penis while filming the upcoming Season 15 premiere of the Discovery+ reality TV series. The UK native’s penis — which he described as his “little soldier’s helmet” — was singed by a spark when a fire pit was being stoked for heat at the remote filming location, the high desert of New Mexico. He and his co-contestant Lilly Jammerbund were snoozing by the open flame sans clothing, as seen in video obtained by TMZ. The panicked father of two then yelped as he felt painful heat creeping up his private parts. However, Mouzer didn’t have to stay in agony for long, as on-set medics were able to treat his burns. He reportedly kept his cool and laughed all the way through the discomfort as the health-care pros did their thing. The new season drops Sunday and will see Mouzer and Jammerbund braving the wilderness for six weeks. Each episode centers around two strangers who are dropped into the wilderness with no food, water or clothes. The duo must make a shelter, start a fire, find food and essentially survive for 21 days without any garments on them.

Pizza Man Lets Squirrel In The House
A Louisiana family’s doorbell camera captured the moment a pizza delivery offered a sneaky squirrel the opportunity to invade their home. Darian Herbert said she had spotted the squirrel lurking outside her Slidell home earlier in the day and suspected the animal was attempting to get inside the house. She said her husband, Rodney, ordered pizza later in the day, and checked the camera first to make sure the squirrel wasn’t still around. She didn’t see the squirrel, but when she opened the door the animal jumped out of its hiding spot at the ceiling of the porch and dashed inside the house. The moment was captured by the couple’s doorbell camera. See the video HERE.

A South African woman and a Canadian man traveled to the Maldives to break the Guinness World Record for the longest underwater kiss ahead of Valentine’s Day. Beth Neale, 40, and her fiance, Miles Cloutier, 33, locked lips underwater in the Maldives on Feb. 4 and kissed underwater for 4 minutes and 6 seconds. The couple broke the world record previously held by Michele Fucarino and Elisa Lazzaina, who kissed underwater for 3 minutes and 24 seconds in 2010. The couple said their successful record attempt came after three days of practicing. They took on the record in the pool at the LUX* South Ari Atoll resort. See the video HERE.

Chocolate Egg Theft
A man who prosecutors said broke into a U.K. industrial park to steal almost 200,000 chocolate Easter eggs has pleaded guilty to theft and criminal damage. Prosecutors said Tuesday that Joby Pool, 32, used a metal grinder to break through a gate at an industrial park in Telford, central England, on Saturday, then used a stolen semi truck to tow away a trailer loaded with Cadbury Creme Eggs and other chocolate goods worth more than 31,000 pounds ($38,000). West Mercia Police tweeted Monday that shortly after the break-in, officers stopped a vehicle “presumably purporting to be the Easter bunny” on a highway and arrested a man on suspicion of theft. Prosecutor Owen Beale said Pool gave up when he realized police were after him. Pool “walked towards the police with his hands up. He was arrested and the load was recovered,” Beale said.

Florida Man Uses PPP Money To Buy Jaguar
A Jacksonville man pleaded guilty to wire fraud and illegal monetary transactions after fraudulently applying for Paycheck Protection Program funds in 2020 and 2021, then spending close to $1 million for personal items. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Kenneth Steven Landers, 57, faces up to 30 years in prison after requesting $1.41 million in PPP loans for four businesses he controlled. Landers’ loan applications were submitted with “false information and documents, including fictitious or altered Internal Revenue Service tax forms,” ending with him approved for close $910,000. Instead of using that money to pay for employees or expenses approved for PPP use, USAO said Landers paid off mortgages for his home and a business property, then “purchased an 18kt gold Rolex watch, and bought a vintage Jaguar XKE Roadster.” In addition to buying the luxury car and watch, Landers “also wrote checks to himself,” and used the money to pay off personal debt, transfer funds to personal accounts, and withdraw $113,000 in cash.

How To Take The Ultimate iPhone Night Photos, According To Photographers
HUFFINGTON POST
- Turn on Night mode and adjust your settings
Remember to turn on Night mode (it’s that moon-looking thing in the upper left corner of your camera app), a feature available on iPhone 11 and later models, and to adjust its settings like exposure time and speed. Although Night mode sets exposure time automatically, you can also manually adjust it to get the results you want by swiping up or down on the screen. If you swipe up, the exposure time increases, making any photos you capture brighter, but if you swipe down, the exposure time decreases, making any photos you capture darker. “Unlike professional cameras, iPhones adjust settings like ISO (which refers to the sensitivity of the camera’s sensor) and shutter speed automatically, but sometimes the settings are off, so you might not get the result that you were looking for,” said Sehee Kim, a professional photographer with Flytographer, a concierge service that connects local photographers all around the world. “Remember to manually change the settings on your phone, by swiping left on the camera app and tapping the moon icon. Don’t rely on the auto settings all the time.”
Photographer Andrew Ling, who has been in the industry for nearly a decade, noted you can also adjust your camera’s exposure setting when not in Night mode by holding your finger down on the screen when you are focusing on your subject, prior to snapping your pic. This will trigger a square box, and you can then increasing the exposure level by swiping your finger up or down when the sun icon appears.
- Use a tripod and external lighting
If you don’t have a steady hand, you might want to consider purchasing a tripod to help you. They come in a range of sizes and prices, but any inexpensive tripod can help keep your iPhone stable to capture clear images even in dimmer lighting.
According to Kim, to avoid grainy photos of yourself in surroundings that are especially dark, you can use illuminating light objects like battery powered string lights positioned near your subject’s face, or surrounding areas like storefront or neon signs.
“You can get beautiful photos by illuminating the face and body!” Kim adds. She recommended these Amazon string lights because of how bright they are. An added benefit, according to her, is that the battery part is small which means it won’t show up in photos and distract from the subject.
- Avoid using the flash
It might sound counterintuitive, but the flash on your iPhone camera is not always the best option for night photos because it can wash out details in your photos or cause bright spots that will take away from the image you are trying to capture. Some natural light will definitely enhance your photos, which is why Kim also recommends lowering the shutter speed on your phone to allow more light into the photo and avoid harsh shadows.
- Use the Live Photo feature
The Live Photo feature can be great for foggy nights, said photographer Andrew Ling.
According to Ling, your iPhone’s live photo setting is a great way to create a “new age” form of memories because it is a cross between a photograph and a video. It captures moving images that can later be converted to a short video clip.
Plus, it works great for night photography because the live photo feature also doubles as a long exposure technique to create effects like light trails or to get a beautiful glowing effect from city lights.
“Plan before you shoot your live photo,” Ling suggested. “One of the biggest benefits comes in the editing options after the photo is taken, where you can choose the ‘Key Photo’ or you can turn it into a loop, etc. Just select the live photo in your Photos app, and find these options in the top left dropdown menu. “Pro tip: Try this effect on a foggy evening.”
According to Ling, newer iPhones automatically go into Night mode, which will be disabled if you turn on Live Photo mode, so be sure to choose the mode that works best for you to capture the shot you desire.
- Edit your photos
Your instagram feed may be littered with blurry photos (there’s definitely an aesthetic model for it), but if you aren’t into that, you can experiment with editing your photos. In addition to the editing functions in your iPhone’s Photos app, secondary apps such as Adobe Lightroom, VSCO and Snapseed can adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation to make your night photos pop.
“Play around with the contrast levels, and highlights and shadows, until you get the look you are happy with! Photography is art — have fun with it,” Ling added.
