Gisele Bundchen Goes After Hurtful Rumors

Gisele Bundchen is calling out the “hurtful” rumors surrounding her divorce from Tom Brady.  She addressed speculation about her divorce from Brady in the April issue of Vanity Fair.  Brady had retired from the NFL in February 2022 and returned to football that March, before officially retiring in February 2023. Many speculated Brady’s career played a role in his split from Bundchen, with some suggesting Bundchen issued an ultimatum between football and their marriage.  In the interview with Vanity Fair, Bundchen said her split from Brady took “years to happen.” She called rumors of an ultimatum “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”  “Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever,” the model said. “If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”  Bundchen compared her divorce from Brady to “a death and a rebirth” and said she is mourning “the death of my dream.”  “It’s tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?” the star said. “I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid. I think it’s beautiful to believe in that. I mean, I’m so grateful I did.”  “You give everything you got to achieve your dream,” she added. “You give a hundred percent of yourself, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t end up the way you hoped for, and worked for, but you can only do your part.”
********And then she rolled over and jumped on the karate coach!!

Rapper Assaulted

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has reportedly been hospitalized following an assault inside an LA Fitness gym in South Florida.  He was attacked in the bathroom of the gym by a group of men and sustained injuries to his face and bruises, his attorney Lance Lazzaro told Variety.  Lazzaro said the attack on the musician, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, happened in and outside the gym’s sauna and he tried to fight back against the three or four men involved.  “He had cuts to his face and bruises,” Lazzaro said, reported Variety, which added that the group of men fled the scene after employees at the gym heard the disturbance.  Police were called following the incident and Hernandez was taken to a local hopsital in an ambulance, Lazzaro added, per Variety.  According to CBS Miami, a video posted to Twitter showed Hernandez on the floor of the gym being kicked by at least two men, with one also grabbing him by the hair.  One of the men is heard saying, “Take a picture. I’m gonna be famous now,” per Variety. Another video showed Hernandez, known for his album Day69: Graduation Day and hit “Fefe” with Nicki Minaj, walking through the gym with a bloodied face.  He told TMZ that Hernandez did not have security with him at the time of the attack and that he now plans on organizing protection for the star.

Dick Van Dyke Recovering From Car Crash

Dick Van Dyke suffered “mild injuries” after crashing his car into a gate in Malibu, California on Wednesday, March 15, police confirm.  The 97-year-old actor was driving a silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 when the vehicle slid into the structure, according to authorities. The area has been experiencing record rains.  Paramedics treated Van Dyke at the scene, police say, though he was not transported to the hospital. TMZ, who was first to report about the accident, were told via sources that his nose and mouth were bleeding, and that he might have suffered a concussion.

Amanda Bynes Was On The Streets

Amanda Bynes was likely living “on the streets for days” before she called police on herself after suffering a mental break.  Sources close to her told TMZ Wednesday that her car had been towed in Long Beach, Calif., on March 15.  The area is about 40 miles from her home and 15 miles from where she was found in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday.  The outlet’s sources believe Bynes may have hitchhiked or taken public transportation to get around and eventually made her way to Hollywood, where she was spotted in a fan’s TikTok video just days before being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.  In the video — which was shared by @kaitlynhotfox Monday but filmed on March 17 — she could be seen holding onto the TikToker’s arm as they walked together.  “Amanda, say, ‘What’s up?’” the social media user said to the camera before Bynes responded, “What’s up?”  The TikToker explained that she had seen the actress walking the streets of Hollywood on St. Patrick’s Day and felt compelled to greet her.  In the caption, however, the user made it clear that Bynes, who was previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was unwell at the time of their run-in.  “Happy shes [sic] getting the help she needs. she was sweet, gave her some money and talked. sometime ppl [sic] just sb [sic] to talk to,” she wrote.

Tom Cruise Is Not In His Daughter’s Life

Tom Cruise has nothing to do with his daughter Suri’s life as she applies to college, it has been reported.  Katie Holmes and Tom’s daughter 16-year-old daughter is thought to have already been applying to colleges but without the help of her dad due to their lack of relationship.  Suri, who turns 17 next month, has been thinking about her future which could include going to a fashion college in New York.  It’s thought that Katie is heavily involved in the application process as she helps her daughter to take the next step in her life.  However, Tom has been estranged from his daughter since 2013, a year after he and Katie divorced.  The Daily Mail reported that Suri and Tom do not stay in contact with each other.  A source said: “Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade. She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life.”  Tom will pay his daughter’s tuition costs per his divorce agreement.  According to their divorce documents, Tom agreed to pay Katie $400,000 a month until Suri turned 18 years old.  Tom also agreed to pay all of Suri’s expenses, including “medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs”.  It’s possible that Suri could go on to study fashion in New York and is apparently “leaning towards” studying at Fordham University.

Minions Appearing All Over Town

Residents of a small Australian town said sculptures of Minions have been appearing in locations around town since just before Christmas, and their origins remain a mystery.  Locals in Warrack, a Victoria town boasting a population of about 70 people, said the first Minions sculpture appeared just before Christmas, and the statues have continued to appear on various properties to reach a current total of 24.  Some of the scrap metal sculptures were designed to have uses such as mailboxes and planters, while others appear to be simple works of art dedicated to the yellow creatures from the Despicable Me franchise.  Mountainside Wines, the only business in the town, has been chronicling the Minion appearances on Facebook.  Residents say there are now more properties in town with Minion sculptures than there are without.  The creator of the sculptures remains a mystery. One installation was captured on CCTV cameras, but one of the culprits was disguised in a Santa Claus costume and the other was unclear in the footage.  See the video HERE.

Inmates Escape To IHop

Two inmates in a Virginia jail used primitively made tools to create a hole in the wall of their cell and escape, only to be found hours later at an IHOP restaurant nearby, a sheriff said.  Authorities discovered the two men, ages 37 and 43, missing from their cell in the Newport News jail annex during a routine head count Monday evening, according to a statement from the Newport News Sheriff’s Office.  A preliminary investigation found the men exploited a weakness in the jail’s construction design and used tools made from a toothbrush and a metal object to access rebars between the walls — and then used the rebar to further their escape, the statement said. After escaping their cell, they scaled a containment wall around the jail.  Authorities had asked for the public’s help to find the men, and they were taken into custody again early Tuesday at an IHOP in Hampton when other patrons called police.   “It reinforces what we always say, ‘See something, say something,’” Sheriff Gabe Morgan said.  The sheriff’s office said it is investigating to help prevent further escapes.

How to Downsize a Home in 5 Steps

The Penny Hoarder

In this guide, we discuss what items to keep, toss, sell and donate when clearing out a house.  We’ll also pass along some practical solutions to save you time and money, like nonprofit organizations that pick up donations.

Step 1: Create a Plan of Action

There is a seemingly monumental task before you: cleaning out an entire house.  Where — and how — do you start?  First, create a plan of action and a realistic timeline. Consider your resources and deadlines.  For example, if you need to clean out your parents’ four-bedroom house by yourself, it’s going to take longer than a single weekend. In fact, it will probably take days — or even weeks or months — to get everything organized.  Look at the time you have available outside of work and other responsibilities. Does the house need to be sold by a certain date? Can your siblings fly in to help?  Try to account for breaks and moments with sentimental items as you plan your timeline. Cleaning out a family home is more emotionally taxing than packing up for a normal move. If you have help, assign everyone a task or a room to declutter before you start. Have each family member make a list of items they want from the house to avoid confusion and conflict down the road.  If you’re downsizing after the death of a loved one, it’s important to locate the will first if there is one. Carefully read through it with a lawyer before you start clearing out the house. This legally binding document will decide who gets what and how to proceed with dividing the estate.  Remember: If the house is in probate, you can’t start selling items or getting rid of property until the estate is settled.

Ask Yourself These Questions Before You Start

Asking yourself these questions can help you solidify your action plan and timeline.

  • Do you have a hard deadline?Or do you need one? If your timeline is short, you may need to donate more items instead of selling them or put things into storage until you can sort through them. If you’ve been putting this off for a while, create a hard deadline to start the task and stick to it.
  • Do you have close friends or immediate family who can help?Lining up extra hands may help you stay on track, make decisions and feel supported.
  • How large is the property?A larger space will take more time, whether you’re downsizing to an apartment or liquidating an estate.
  • What’s your budget? Consider things like cleaning supplies, a dumpster rental, professional help, gas to transport donations, etc.
  • Do you have the equipment you need? Things like boxes, tape, plastic tubs, a flashlight, a dolly to move furniture, etc.
  • Do you have transportation to help you donate, discard and relocate large items? You may need to rent or borrow a truck to move furniture or appliances.
  • Where is the nearest trash and recycling center? What are their hours and what do they accept?

Step 2: Start Sorting Through Items and Clearing Out Rooms

Working in one room at a time, in a clockwise motion around each room, is one way to start the task of clearing out a house.  “Staying in one area of the home and moving on to another area usually makes the most sense,” said Vickie Dellaquila, a Pittsburgh-based professional organizer and founder of Organization Rules Inc. “It’s good to finish one room at a time.”  Dellaquila suggests tackling a spare bedroom first, especially if you aren’t sure where to start.  “This way you can use the room as a staging area” to sort items, Dellaquila told The Penny Hoarder.  Another option? Attics, basements and garages.  “These areas contain things like empty boxes and broken items that are often easier for people to deal with,” Dellaquila said.  Other experts recommend starting with the bathroom since it’s small and usually has few, if any, sentimental items.  As you make your way through each room, sort items into these basic categories:

  • Trash
  • Keep
  • Sell
  • Donate

Prepare to open every box, empty every pocket and look in every drawer. Otherwise, you might discard important items and regret it later.

Step 3: Decide What to Keep

So what do you actually do with everything?  The answer depends on the type of items and how much time you have.  It also depends on how many items you want to sell or if you simply want things out of the house as quickly as possible.

How to Handle Sentimental Items

Sentimental items are invaluable, but sorting through them is incredibly emotional and time consuming.  To save time — and avoid tossing memories in the trash — place things like family photos, sentimental paperwork, invitations, cards and letters in plastic storage containers and sort through them later.  Don’t attempt to go through each photo or family memento now. It will only slow you down and make an emotional task harder.  Deciding what to do with other, larger items can be trickier.  While you want to honor your loved one’s legacy and keep things that remind you of them, Dellaquila says it’s important to put limits on how much stuff you keep.  “I’ve seen a lot of people keep much more than they really want because they can’t decide,” she said. Dellaquila suggests creating boundaries and limits on the things you save, especially if you’re downsizing a home after a loved one has died.  For example, if your mom had a collection of figurines that really remind you of her, just keep one or two that best represent her memory.  “Remember, you don’t have to be a curator of a museum of your mother’s stuff,” Dellaquila said.  Make sure to ask family members what sentimental items they want to keep before selling, donating or throwing things away.  Never assume you know what is important to other people.

Step 4: Decide What to Discard

You might encounter more trash than you ever imagined possible when cleaning out a house.  Good first steps: Empty the wastebaskets and shred piles of unimportant papers. Get rid of stacks of junk mail, old receipts and coupons.  The same goes for damaged, broken or stained items. Your local Goodwill doesn’t want that rusty, wobbly patio table any more than you do. (You could try a curb alert though.)  In fact, Goodwill and other thrift stores generally won’t accept these items:

  • Tube TVs (You may be able to recycle it.)
  • Sleeper sofas
  • Bed pillows, mattresses and box springs
  • Severely damaged or stained clothing (Some thrift stores sell damaged clothing to recyclers to bring in some extra cash. You can ask ahead of time, then put those items in separate bags.)
  • Bean bag chairs
  • Any chemicals (Look for hazardous waste disposal near you.)
  • Building materials (Donate to the Habitat ReStore.)

Step 5: Decide What to Sell

Items of value left unclaimed by family can be sold for cash.  If you need to sell only a few items, consider using Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp or Craigslist to arrange fast pickup.
