Ryan Reynolds To Welcome New Baby

Ryan Reynolds is “very excited” to welcome baby No. 4 with his wife, Blake Lively.  He said on Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that he is excited to welcome his fourth child with Lively, 35 , but hasn’t prepared much.  “The first one, you know, you have everything perfect — you just set everything up just right, have everything sterilized. By the fourth, you’re just like, oh, right, this is happening. I should sweep or something,” Reynolds joked.  “Not as much preparation is happening,” he added. “I shouldn’t speak for my wife, because she’s in it to win it. She’s ready.”  Reynolds and Lively married in September 2012 and already have three daughters, James, 7, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3.  “We’re very excited. A little extra help around the house,” Reynolds joked.  Lively announced her pregnancy by debuting her baby bump at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit in September.  The actress previously told Forbes that she feels happy and confident as a mom.  “I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident — not to say that there aren’t a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled,” she said.

Meghan and Harry Wish Elton John A Happy Retirement

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised concertgoers at Elton John’s final show Sunday night before his retirement.  They thanked John for “being a friend” to them, their children and Harry’s late mom Princess Diana in a pre-taped message.  “Hi Elton, we just wanted to say congratulations,” Markle said in the video, according to People magazine.  “And thank you for entertaining everybody for so many decades,” Harry added. “Thank you for being the friend that you were for my mum, thank you for being our friend. Thank you for being a friend to our kids and thank you for entertaining people right around the world.”  “Even though this is officially your retirement, this will not be your last gig, we know that. But we love you and congratulations on an incredible career,” he finished.  Prince Harry and Markle have long been friends with John. The musician performed at the couple’s wedding in 2018.  For the concert Sunday night at Dodger stadium, John was joined by musicians Brandi Carlile, Kiki Dee and Dua Lipa.

Shaq Admits He Was A Horrible Husband

Shaquille O’Neal admits he was the problem in his marriage to ex-wife Shaunie Henderson.  “I was a d–khead,” he told People in his new cover story published Monday. “You don’t know how good you got something ’til it’s gone.”  Though he did not elaborate on what he did to consider himself a “d–khead,” this isn’t the first time he has taken the blame for how his union with the “Basketball Wives” alum, 47, ended in 2011.  “I was bad,” he cryptically said in the April 19 episode of “The Pivot Podcast,” adding, “She was awesome. She really was. It was all me.”  While the four-time NBA champion did not reveal “what [he] was doing” wrong then either, he did confess that he “wasn’t protecting [Henderson] and protecting those vows.” “Sometimes when you live that double life, you get caught up. I’m not going to say it was her. It was all me,” he continued.  O’Neal added that Henderson did everything she could to have a stable marriage, including giving birth to their four “beautiful kids,” managing the “corporate stuff” and taking care of their home.  “It was just all me,” he said. “Sometimes, when you make a lot of mistakes like that, you can’t really come back from that.”

Bob Dylan’s Love Letters Sell

Bob Dylan’s teenage love letters sold for $669,875 on Friday.  The lot consists of 42 letters written by Dylan – then Robert Zimmerman – to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Hewitt. The letters span 150 pages hand-written by the young musician.  The “unprecedented archive” was sold by RR Auction, a Boston-based auction house specializing in unique memorabilia.  In 1958, he was already dreaming of changing his name and selling a million records, aspirations he shared with Hewitt in his missives. He wrote about preparing for the local talent show, shared short pieces of poetry, and continually professed his affections for Hewitt, according to RR Auction.  The lot also includes a signed Valentine’s Day card from Dylan and an unsigned handwritten note.  Hewitt, born in 1941, settled with her family in Hibbing, Minnesota, during her early teenage years, according to RR Auction. It was there that she met Dylan in high school history class.

King Charles Angry About Family Gathering

King Charles is reportedly very upset about a family gathering that took place last weekend.  According to a new report in The Daily Mail, Charles’ siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward (as well as other members of the royal family) gathered together at Windsor for a shooting party just a couple of days before Charles’ 74th birthday. And apparently disgraced royal Prince Andrew was also at the event, which Charles was not thrilled about.  A source tells the Daily Mail that King Charles decided not to attend the shoot, and is unhappy that Andrew was invited.  “King Charles was said to be displeased that Edward and Anne had been publicly meeting up with Andrew and wanted it made clear that he had not been part of the shoot. Anne and Edward had been privately concerned about Andrew and wanted to check on him. But Charles’s view is that he should not be in the public eye. His Majesty was not thrilled at all.”  FYI, the outlet reports that Andrew is expected to be at Sandringham for Christmas with his family, but will not be allowed to attend the royals’ annual walk on Christmas day.  Meanwhile, it sounds like things are slightly tense between King Charles and Prince Edward. Mostly because Edward had been expected to inherit the Duke of Edinburgh title following his father’s death, and still doesn’t have it—which a source close to the royal family “icily” said “hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

Brad Pitt didn’t just pick up a new hobby during the pandemic.  He also found some new friends, too!  Together with Thomas Houseago and Nick Cave, the 58-year-old actor made his debut as a sculptor in a group show at Finland’s Sara Hilden Art Museum in September.  “Brad has reimagined himself as a ‘serious artist’ and has only been hanging out with his artsy pals,” reveals a source.  “Brad has cut off longtime friends like George Clooney and Matt Damon.  He isn’t interested in the Hollywood scene anymore.  He feels like that was a different life.”

Woman Busted For Smuggling Spider Monkey

A Texas woman has pleaded guilty to smuggling a spider monkey in a box she alleged was carrying beer, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials said Sunday.  Savannah Nicole Valdez, 20, was arrested on March 21 when she tried to enter the United States through the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville, Texas, with the primate, officials said in a statement.  Eagle-eyed officers at the border spotted a wooden box with holes inside her car, which she said contained beer she had bought in Mexico.  Officers opened the box and discovered the live spider monkey inside and directed her to pull over for a secondary inspection.  Valdez refused and sped off, running a traffic light and “nearly colliding with officers and other vehicles,” officials said.  Investigators later found online ads for the sale of a spider monkey with her phone number listed.

Overdue Repair Manual

A Minnesota library said a car repair manual checked out in 1975 was anonymously returned along with an apologetic letter.  The Washington County Library System said in a Facebook post that the book, Chilton’s Foreign Car Repair Manual: German, Swedish, Italian Cars, Vol. 1, arrived recently via mail at the Lake Elmo Library.  An unsigned letter included with the package explained the borrower had checked the book out to help with a Mercedes Benz repair project in the mid-1970s.  The letter explained the former patron had forgotten to return the book before moving away from Lake Elmo a few months later.  The letter said the borrower found the book in a trunk 47 years later, along with other items they hadn’t seen since the 1970s.  “It’s a little overdue, but I thought you might want it back,” the letter reads. “My apologies to anyone in Lake Elmo who was working on an old Benz in the last 47 years.”  The post said the library is just happy to have the book back.

Bees Like To Have Fun

A study recently published in Animal Behavior suggests that bumblebees, when given the chance, like to fool around with toys.  Researchers from Queen Mary University of London conducted an experiment in which they set up a container that allowed bees to travel from their nest to a feeding area. But along the way, the bees could opt to pass through a separate section with a smattering of small wooden balls. Over 18 days, the scientists watched as the bees “went out of their way to roll wooden balls repeatedly, despite no apparent incentive to do so.”  The finding suggests that like humans, insects also interact with inanimate objects as a form of play. Also similar to people, younger bees seemed to be more playful than adult bees.  Earlier studies have shown that the black and yellow bugs are willing to learn new tricks in exchange for food or other rewards, so in this case Chittka and his team set out to create conditions that would eliminate external variables. They made sure that the bees had acclimated to their new home and that their environment was stress free.

Pokemon Card Record

A pair of brothers from Denmark earned a Guinness World Record by amassing a collection of more than 32,000 Pokemon cards.  Jens Ishoy Prehn and Per Ishoy Nielsen told Guinness World Records they have been collecting the popular game cards for their entire adult lives and their collection now totals 32,809 different cards, enough to earn the record for largest collection of Pokemon cards. The brothers said they have spent a lot of money on cards over the years, despite some words of disapproval from their parents.  The brothers said their most valuable card, a first-edition Charizard, is worth about $20,000 in the current market.
