Adele Is Getting The Oprah Treatment

Adele will perform and give an exclusive interview to Oprah Winfrey in a new CBS special.  Adele One Night Only will air Nov. 14 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS and be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.  The special will be filmed in Los Angeles. Adele will perform some of her chart-topping hits, along with new and never-before-heard songs.  In addition, Adele will speak to Winfrey from her rose garden. She will discuss her new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son.  Adele One Night Only will air just days before the release of Adele’s fourth studio album, 30, her first album in six years. Adele released a first song from the album, “Easy on Me,” on Friday and will release the full album Nov. 19^th.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Trial To Begin In February

Cuba Gooding Jr. will go on trial in February in his New York City groping case, a judge said Monday, with prosecutors planning to portray the actor as a serial offender and the defense contending the case is an example of #MeToo run amok.  Judge Curtis Farber set a Feb. 1 trial date in the case, which involves allegations he violated three different women at three different Manhattan night spots in 2018 and 2019.  One of the women alleged Gooding pinched her buttocks. Another said he squeezed her breast.  Farber had expressed a desire to start the trial sooner, possibly in December, but Gooding lawyer Peter Toumbekis said he’ll be tied up with trials in the Bronx then.  “I want to lock this down for trial,” Farber said at a hearing in state court in Manhattan. “This case has been on my calendar for two years, going on three years.”  Gooding had been scheduled to go on trial in April 2020, but that was scuttled as coronavirus cases surged in New York and the state shut down most court matters.

Wendy Williams Show Season Begins Without Her

“The Wendy Williams Show” aired its Season 13 premiere Monday morning without its host.  The show kicked off with a four-person panel that consisted of Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister, Michael Yo and Devyn Simone, and right off the bat, they all addressed the audience with Williams’ signature catchphrase, “How you doin’?”  Yo then addressed Williams’ absence.  “Wendy, I know you’re watching right now, and on behalf of myself, our panel, your co-hosts, we love you and can’t wait to have you back in that purple chair,” Yo said.  None of the panel members discussed Williams’ health or her issues keeping her off TV.  Last week, the show announced that Leah Remini would also guest host for a four-day run in Williams’ absence.  “Wendy’s shoes are hard to fill, so we needed to find the right fit,” executive producer David Perler said in a statement obtained by Page Six. “Leah will bring a lot of fun and energy to our viewers with a few surprises along the way.”

The Beatles Are Now on TikTok

In an apparent bid to infect Generation Z with Beatlemania, the Beatles have officially arrived on TikTok. Entitled @TheBeatles, the iconic rock group’s account has amassed over 180,000 followers since its creation Friday as a promo for the Disney+ documentary “Get Back,” as well as the Beatles’ newly remixed “Let It Be” album, Variety reported.  As with other heritage artist accounts, TikTokers will be able to soundtrack their videos with 36 of The Beatles’ most iconic tunes, including “Let It Be” to “Hey Jude” and “Eleanor Rigby.” The dedicative profile also includes special tracks like the John Lennon-Paul McCartney duet “I’ve Got A Feeling” and “I Me Mine,” the final song The Beatles recorded as a band. So there’s no longer an excuse to set every TikTok clip to “Oh No” by Capone, guys.  Along with the classic songs, the account will reportedly include exclusive behind-the-scenes clips from the “Let It Be” sessions — the basis for the Peter Jackson Documentary “Get Back,” according to Variety. There will also be in-depth analysis on specific songs featuring interviews with McCartney and Ringo Starr.

One year after their engagement, Gwen Stefani is giving fans a never-before-seen look at the moment Blake Shelton popped the question.  She shared a video to Instagram on Sunday in which she shows off her 6.9-carat diamond ring as Blake dances around his then-fiancée.  “Look, we just got engaged!” Stefani exclaims in the clip before Shelton plants a kiss on her cheek while Kool & the Gang’s “Celebration” plays in the background.  She also posted a photo showing what appears to be the exact moment he proposed. Giant Squash

A pair of Ohio farmers took their 2,164-pound green squash to a giant vegetable competition and walked away with a world record.  Todd and Donna Skinner, who have been growing pumpkins and squash for nearly 30 years, said they knew their green squash was going to be impressive at the Oakland Nursery National Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Dublin, but they were stunned to see it tip the scales at 2,164 pounds.  “We had a rough idea that it was going to weigh nice, but not that heavy,” Donna Skinner told WTOV-TV.  Oakland Nursery said the Skinners are now world record holders for the heaviest green squash.  “Truly a sight to be seen,” the business said in an Instagram post.

100 Rattlesnakes Found Under Home

An animal rescuer responding to a California home where snakes were spotted under the house said he ended up rounding up nearly 100 rattlesnakes.  Al Wolf of Sonoma County Reptile Rescue said he responded to a North Bay home where a resident spotted a snake slithering under the building, and he looked under the house to discover dozens of rattlesnakes taking shelter.  “It took about three hours, but I found a total of 92 rattlesnakes under that house, I was tickled pink, I wish that happened everyday to me,” Wolf told WABC-TV.  Wolf posted photos of the snakes he removed from under the house to Facebook.  The rescuer said it’s unusual to find so many rattlesnakes in one place, and the recent drought is likely to blame.

UFO’s Were Most Likely Drones

Residents of a New Jersey city spotted a series of mysterious lights in the night sky, and at least one expert said they may have been drones practicing for a light show.  Louis Stevens said the white lights appeared in the sky over downtown Paterson for at least five minutes Monday night, and Stevens and other witnesses questioned whether they were seeing unidentified flying objects of paranormal origin. “You see it on YouTube and it’s always somewhere out in the Nevada desert somewhere,” Stevens told WPIX-TV. “The shock of it is more like, is this really real, I mean are we really looking at what we think we looking at?”  Stevens captured video of the lights that was shared with the Federal Aviation Administration, which said no unusual activity was reported over Paterson by local air traffic authorities at the time of the sighting.  Victor Chu, director and executive producer of drone videography and photography company Sky One, said the lights may have been drones practicing for a light show.  The FAA said people who witness similar lights in the sky should report their sightings to the National UFO Reporting Center.

Florida Woman Shoots Former Boss

A Florida woman is currently in police custody after entering a Florida T-Mobile location and shooting her former store manager at point-blank range.  27-year-old Rachel Boisette turned herself in at the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail after shooting the manager. Boisette is currently facing charges of attempted homicide with a firearm, according to the Sun-Sentinel. She went to the T-Mobile store to confront the store manager after she was fired in August. Boisette said that the firing “ruined her life” even though the manager who she shot didn’t assist in firing her from the cell phone store.  Prior to the shooting, Boisette visited the location several times that day, which was captured on surveillance footage, according to local authorities. The victim who was shot tried to call 911 several times throughout the day to no avail.  When Boisette arrived at the store for the final time, she approached the cash register, produced a gun and shot the store manager, striking him in his left arm and chest. After the victim tried to flee, Boisette followed him into a back-office room, then to a bathroom, and shot the bathroom door twice before the gun malfunctioned.
********They asked her why, and she simply said, “Florida!!!”

1. Get a Good Return on Your Investment

A good CEO focuses on“ROI — return on investment.

You want to invest your time and money in things that will return a profit. That involves making apples-to-apples comparisons: Should I do THIS or should I do THAT?

For example: If you already have an emergency fund, instead of sticking money in a savings account for a rainy day, you should really invest it. That’s the best way to grow your money.

With interest rates so low, a savings account these days will pay you pretty much zero interest. However, investing in the stock market has yielded an average annual return of 7%, adjusted for inflation, according to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.

Don’t know where to start? Beginners like Robinhood because it doesn’t charge commission fees, and you can buy and sell stocks for free — no limits. Plus, it’s super easy to use.

 

2. Stay in the Black

A smart CEO always looks for ways to cut unnecessary expenses and improve their bottom line.

For example, do you carry a balance on your credit cards? Then you’re almost certainly spending too much money on interest. Credit cards charge notoriously high interest rates.
